    Breeding plans
Does anyone make a breeding plan for the next year's season? I have decided to go thru my racks and write down who I plan on pairing to who. Some people I have spoke with think its a waste of time, but I like the idea of planning ahead and knowing what I want to produce. Besides this coming breeding season is my biggest season yet. Anyone else?

I plan for the worst (not getting the odds) and hope for the best :gj:.

I have a male I hope will breed 2 ladies this year, and I'm raising a boy in case they aren't interested :gj:. Either way, I hope I hit the odds and get what I'm hoping for.

I have a general focal point for the most part, and most of my animals fall within that range, so come breeding time, I just go with whatever I'm feeling at the moment...try to keep the thought process to a minimum.

I have goals and ideas pop up in my head everyday that I write down in a notebook. There are so many things I want to do that I cant keep up with mental notes. It helps me go about my future purchases. I even have long term goals I set for when I have a lot more space. Like I would love to do a small project with some not so small snakes like retics! And I really love bloods so I write down things I see that I like and I do a ton of research and note taking when I get on a roll and start brainstorming. I have 2 pages of ideas that I havent seen produced yet although I have marked that some of them have actually come out yet but I am hoping that next season I can get a little bit of a start on some of these projects!

i am. i plan for 2 different males for every female. i feel its better to plan ahead in stead of just throwing what i got together that way i can make plans for what im going to produce and start thinking about what sex i will be holding back and what i will be selling. i feel if your going to make 3-5 gene morphs planing is the only way to do it unless you just plan to buy what you need but i think it takes the fun out of it lol.

I keep an Excel file, so I can edit it as many times as I need. :P

I pick a few projects that I really want to see if I can hit and the rest is just simply trying to produce the best bases and combos I can..

After having her a week, I'm looking into a rack. Hopefully in the next week. Why are they so addicting :tears::D

Lol, I only have 6 breeding size snakes, but yes, I have it all planned out. Normal to Yb, Pastel to Honeybee, Het Pied to Double het albino pied. Very simple so far.... I even tentatively have the next year planned as well, based on what I have, what I hope to hatch(7 days!) and what I hope to buy, and a backup plan in-case that one falls through (which is just a repeat of this year or switch the yb and honeybee. :P

I didnt think to describe my plan bc im a dummy lol, but this is pretty much what i plan to do as well. ^

I have 3 girls that will be up to size and have a 2 males for them. Hoping to hit some double gene animals but if not it'll be exciting no matter what i make lol. Either way i'll probably end up holding back most female morphs i produce to buildup my breeding stock. :gj:

I do but usually wait until October to make my final decisions. Once I start pairing them up things change and never work out as I originally planned. I work in the technology field so I always have 3 options available: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. ;)

In August, I am usually doing my final check for possible follicle growth/building and taking weights to make sure everyone will be ready that possibly can be come November when all hell breaks loose. :rolleye2:
