Making an amazing pickup tomorrow
My friend is going to be a father later this week and his girlfriend said the snakes gotta go, all but two that is. Well tomorrow I'm getting a het pied male proven breeder(with papers), 3 pastel het pied females (1 breeder sized two on the small side), a lesser male (sub adult with plugs), a mojave female (baby), and a large (3000g) female normal. All of this for $500. I'm trying to get him to sell me the other two as well they are both girls one is a 5 foot mojave and the other is a 4.5 foot pastave
-
That's a score right there congrats man.
-
thanks thinking of reselling/trading most but definitely keeping the het pied and big pastel het pied and getting them going this season
-
wow! What a fantastic deal! Congrats! :gj:
I'm not speaking about this situation in particular as I have no idea what the basis is for him getting rid of his collection and it would be unfair for me to comment on it but;
I hate when spouses feel like they are justified in telling their partners that they "have to," get rid of the things that are important to them. I can understand discussing the issue if there is a concern for whatever reason, but ultimately I feel it's unfair to strong arm someone into giving up something they feel passionate about. I was told that it would be nice if I sold ALL of my snakes and equipment, because it would be fun to have the money that is tied up in assets. I said it would be nice to sell all of her shoes and Jewellery and stop all of the trips to the Salon. Which ended that conversation..
Any ways, my point is that NOBODY has the right to force another person to give up something that is important to them. It makes me angry just to think about. LOL Again, not speaking on this situation, just reminded me of how betrayed I felt when that was asked of me.
Cheers,
Chris.

i don't want to be the party pooper here, but wouldn't your buddy be kind of upset that he being sort of forced to sell his snakes for cheap and you reselling them. just my own opinion

x2, I was thinking that. I wasn't going to say anything but that's a little messed up haha. Is he giving you them so cheap because he has to get rid of it quickly or because your his buddy and he knows where they are going?
I would be annoyed if I gave my buddy a good deal and he only bought it to flip it.

depends on the quality, $200ish

Gotta agree there if i swung my friend a killer deal and they turned around and sold em for what i could have i'd be pretty upset. maybe if you do sell em for a decent price you could give him a lil sumthin extra to prevent any hard feelings.

I had thought that originally I told him I would only take the pastel het and the het with papers he begged me to take more, I explained I don't have the space or time to add them all but he told me to resell them then he just needs them out or he would sell them full price himself.
So what do you think a pastel het female is worth

wouldn't you hate it, if he ended up keeping all his snakes, as his wife felt bad????

if he does good for him, im ok without getting the deal. though i obviously would prefer to get the deal.
to all the others I wouldn't just resell something a friend gave me to Ishould have explained the situation before. The 5ft mojo and 4.5ft pastave would be keepers too, only reselling the ones he had begged me to take

Again I should have explained myself better, I used the word friend but hes just a guy who got a few geckos from me and likes to talk reptiles every once in a while. This isn't anyone that I would hang out with on any sort of regular basis. Friend perhaps wasn't the best word, if it was one of my two friends who keep reptiles I would certainly help him resell his snakes. Even though he isn't a friend I will probably give him a hatchling gecko or two as a thank you when my eggs hatch.

Re: Making an amazing pickup tomorrow
if the guy is aware of it then go head it's deffinitely a heck of a deal
