Spot the Leopard (One Year Old)

I first joined this community about a year ago. My first thread was a question: is this girl a leopard ball python? I learned that she was in fact a leopard, and over this past year I have learned many other things as well.

Here is the thread I made for Spot, when she was just a hatchling:

As you can see, she has "browned out" quite a bit, but I still find her to be just as beautiful as the day I first saw her. Spot will always be special to me. Just wanted to share!

Very interesting (and very beautiful) Tail she has. As well as the rest of her :P She's grown up a lot

Thanks! I've always loved her crazy ringer. It gets kind of annoying when people keep trying to tell me she's actually a piebald though. :rolleyes:

It's funny because within a year she's passed the weight my spider girl was at when she was two years. Honestly it's okay if Spot hits "the wall" because I wouldn't want to breed her before she's two years old anyway. :P If she doesn't stop eating though...she'll easily be 2K or 3K by that time. :O

Thanks! She actually still has these really gorgeous orange shades near her ringer. I'll have to try and get a close up. It's interesting to me that she's darkened quite similarly to a pastel, though she doesn't have the gene.

she is one nice looking girl. that ringer just makes her more special.

Don't you just love it when people try and tell you they know more about your snake than you do ?

Look at Dave Green's Champagne ringers for crying out loud. I still have trouble believing that oldest girl isn't pied. Partly because I've never seen such an extreme ringer, but also because Champagne really doesn't have a pattern to speak of, so you can't do that " crazy pied pattern" trick with her.

Yeah, I often use his black pastel champagnes as an example. :D

Sorry for asking this what is the diff beween the Pied and a ringer like your girl? my friend has a low white pied like your girl and just hatched out a great cluch of Pieds. I am new the this whole world of BPs

Piebalds have a very washed out sort of watercolor-esque pattern. As you can see, Spot has a very clear crisp pattern with no streaks or orange until you get to her ringer. A lot of people overlook the fact that piebalds have their own distinct pattern- they're not just normal looking ball pythons with white patches. Does that make sense?
