My Daytona Pick-ups
Had a pretty good Daytona trip! I wasn't planning on making any purchases, but we know it never turns out that way!
First is a hatchling female pinstripe. I started a different thread talking about how I swapped out the snake because the first one I picked up had a kink that I didn't notice until I had already got back to the hotel.
Long story short, this is my new female pin!

I also got another female, this time a cinnamon! I'm pretty picky with my cinnys and as soon as I saw this girl I knew I had to have her.
Best part is that she was sold to me as a male and I paid $100 for her!
When the guy popped her before I left I didn't see any hemipenes, but apparently the guy was satisfied and said it was a male. When I sat down, I wasn't convinced so I popped it myself I didn't see any hemipenes either! Before I got too excited I made the decision to have a breeder sex for me just to double check. I took the snake over to Adam Chelsa, who is someone I've done business with in the past, he said he couldn't be sure because he thought he was seeing female scent glands but they could have been very small hemipenes.
I wanted a definitive male or female before I left the show! In one last attempt I took the snake over to Brian at BHB and asked his opinion. After popping he wasn't sure so he was going to probe the snake for me! He couldn't find his probe kit and ended up walking around with me to a couple different vendors looking for a probe kit. When we did find a kit, he confirmed for me that it was indeed a FEMALE! He double checked each side just to be positive before he told me though.
This was definitely an exciting pick up for me! A $100 cinny as pretty as her... Can't say I complain!
My favorite things about her are how her alien head connect and she has a good amount of squiggles and that she has a large amount of white coming up on her sides :)

This is just a bonus. I bought this for my boyfriend. A red eye croc skink that I got from LLLReptiles. It is a wild caught female.

Also, I saw this male tricolor crested gecko and just about pissed myself. I've never seen a gecko this pretty in person. pictures do NOT do him justice!

Re: My Daytona Pick-ups
On your Cinny's belly, that line sort of close to her butt ? What is that? Is that on young ball pythons because my spider has had that in about the same spot since I got him at a month old. He's 5 months old now.

Smokin pick ups! I wish I could have gone. I think I'll start saving for next year because I know the same thing will probably happen to me. ;) And I really wouldn't mind getting a female cinni for $100!! Awesome deal! You really lucked out. :gj:
As to that crestie...how much was he?!? He would have been the /perfect/ boyfriend for my girl. ;)

You know what, I'm not quite sure. I'm thinking it is just part of her pattern that is continuing on her belly near her cloaca.

You mean the little split line of scales on the belly? that would be her belly button!

The crestie wasn't for sale. They had some of his offspring for sale for 200 for a hatchling!
This boy made me realize I need a high end crested gecko!

I wasn't sure if the person was asking about the belly button or that black line in her pattern lol guess I was just looking at something else.
Who wants to help me pick names!?

Of course he wasn't for sale. *sigh* Did his offspring look like him? I could understand $200 for a hatchling if it looked like him. But if not...I wouldn't risk it. Who was the breeder if you don't mind my asking?

The offspring had a lot of the same bright creams as he did, but none of them were fired up so it was hard to say.
They were a breeder based out of chicago. I have their business card somewhere! I'll let you know when I find it. I wanted to look online at what they had available. They had some AMAZING geckos in their breeding stock.

Found it!
CreepyExotics.com
I'm going to be browsing their site when I get home later tonight.

Congrats on all the pickups! I agree about the crested geckos, most people don't realize the potential they have until they see one that is truly amazing from there on out you can't rest until you have the best. I wish I was able to go this year, I'm jealous.
