How well do your hatchlings sell?
This goes out to all of the breeders, bug and small. I go on kingsnake and fauna and see hundreds of snakes for sale. Also, many breeders with their own sites have a ton of snakes. What I was wondering was how fast and how often do your hatchlings sell? Do you end up having hatchlings for 6 weeks or 6 months?
    Thanks, Benek

Some go fast and some don't. I sell most of my normals to a local pet store quickly, but some of the morphs are harder to sell depending on price range and what's on the market. Last year I had some bees for sale for 4 months. Finally sold two but ended up trading the 2 females for a male pied. Just depends on what's on the market at the time. Seems like around where I live, the cheaper morphs like spiders and pastels sell quicker since they are more affordable. If I start to produce morphs that are over the $1000 range, I would definitely make a website.

I havn't produced any snakes yet but surely will this up coming season so I was wondering the same thing. I should have everything from normals to a few $1,000 snakes. Wholesaling the normals locally or giving them to responsible friends seems like the way to go, but im curious to see what happens with the higher end stuff. I imagine I will end up doing a few trades.

I usually get mine sold within a couple months, but I don't have a large number of babies to sell yet. Last year I sold 9, so far this year I only have 2 to sell.

This is my first year and my guys hatched july 2nd. I have 4 of 9 still here to sell. I was trying for local sales only but I may have to open that up to move them.

I had 26 eggs this year. I only have 4 left. I believe the only reason I haven't sold all of them is because I'm limited to selling locally until shipping weather is available. It's much too hot to ship in the Arizona heat. I'm positive they would have been sold by now if they were able to be shipped.

I'm excited to do it all over again next year!

depends on the market mostly, but quality, price and your rep also plays a big part in it too. good luck don

I think it depends upon a lot of things. First, have you established a good reputation (good service and quality babies)? If you do, your babies will sell quicker. Do you have popular morphs? If you do, your babies will sell quicker. Do you vend expos? If you do, you will have better sales. Do you know other breeders and check on their stock. This can give you a way to introduce new morphs by trading what you have for their babies. Some of my babies hang around for awhile, some have deposits down on them before they even come out of the egg.

I still have one hatchling left and I cant seem to move her, even though she is the beset looking one in my opinion...Last year I sold out of normals within a few weeks after their first couple meals and sold NO pastels or spiders...I was just selling locally too though.
