Your absolute favourite "chill out," album?
"She say's baby.
It's 3 am I must be lonely.
When she say's baby,
I can't help but be scared of it all, sometimes,
The rains gonna wash away I believe, this.
It's 3 am I must be lonely.
When she says baby,
I can't help but be scared of it all, Sometimes."
HAHAHA I was listening to Matchbox 20 to relax and I looked at the clock and it was 3 am. I thought it was funny.
What is your absolute favourite "chill out," album?
If you haven't guessed it... Mine is Matchbox 20 - Yourself or someone like you. I've probably listened to the Album all the way through 200 - 300 times. I think I have like 12 copies of it haha.
1. MatchBox 20 - Yourself or someone like you.
2. Eminem - Infinite
3. Big Shiny Tunes 2 (hahaha I know, I know..)

Dethklok - The dethalbum
something about metal that just relaxes me.
-
yes!! :gj: AIC is sick! "Check my brain," is so relaxing to me! haha. I used to listen to the vines when they released Autumn Shade. That song reminds me of the Album.
-
whenever i need a break from all the metal that blares through my ears most of the day. this is one of the albums i listen to. i find it quite relaxing lol.
-
Pink Floyd...Dark Side Of The Moon

Re: Your absolute favourite "chill out," album?
Any of the following fall into the catagory of being able to listen all the way through over and over. To just pick one as a favorite is impossible.
Pearl Jam Ten
Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies
Van Halen I
Elton John Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
REM Automatic for the People
Decemberists Hazards of Love
Zeppelin IV
Wings Speed of Sound
Supertramp Breakfast in America
David Bowie Station to Station
and so on.............

From a guy with high blood pressure, I listen to anything by Enya or Loreena McKennitt when I need to come down a bit. I really do have a problem with being a little too 'on edge' at times and I have a whole plethora of 'mediation music' or tibetian singing bells or 'musical sound scapes' types of music, but those two usually do it for me.
-
The Doors- Uh i think i just have like their greatest hits CD...? Not positive though. Specifically the song Crystal Ship has a calming effect.
Tool- they only have 3 or 4 albums out but 10,000 days is probably the one i listen to most. I like them bc theyre metal, but they dont have any distinct sound.
I also like RHCP, some pink floyd as ghost said^, and some other bands i probably cant think of right now haha.
I dont really have "chill out" music though. Im having trouble defining that catergory as to what you mean. Our definitions of chilling out may differ...

Just about any Depeche mode album, or anything Schiller.
-
Re: Your absolute favourite "chill out," album?
Depends on your definition of chill out. I'm a huge alice in chains/pearl jam fan but tose arent chill out bands to me. If you wanna kick back and relax, pop in some john lee hooker.
-
After taxes - Sheek
Gangster and a Gentleman - Styles
Reasonable Doubt - Jay
Ready to Die - Biggie

Anything from Pretty Lights

Hmm, to chill out, I would say Jack Johnson-In Between Dreams. I could also listen to any Craig D'Andrea album or Ryan Spendlove-Fable.
-
Hmm, most of my "chill out" music probably isn't what most of yall would consider relaxing music as it is generally fairly heavy. I consider it very comforting and perfect for putting on a pair of decent headphones, laying down and listening to in the dark until I fall asleep.
"My Arms, Your Hearse" - Opeth
"2112" - Rush
"Dismantling Devotion" - Daylight Dies
"Grave New World" - Soulfallen
"Alaska" - Between The Buried And Me
Pretty much anything by Agalloch and Tool are good to mellow out to as well.

Yea they only have a few, not one for every song. I kinda like that. Lets you interpret your own thoughts on their songs.

Maybe so. I like to think this fan did a pretty damn good job though! I love the darkness and creepyness of that video!

EDIT: there may be a swear or two in that song, i honestly dont remember. The overall video is sorta creepy too. So only click on it of you want your mind blown in a badass way!

Ol' Les Claypool is an interesting fella, ain't he? :D
Mike, most Tool videos scare the crap out of me! I always get a kick out of the video below. "Sober", Maynard is not...

I guess it would have to be:
"All Things Must Pass" by George Harrison
"End of Evangelion OST" by Shiro Sagisu (Which got dumped onto itunes in the wrong friggin order. Yes, that bothers me.)
"Total Pwnage" by Powerglove
"Fire of Unknown Origin" by Blue Oyster Cult
"The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd
So, uh, maybe my idea of chilling out is a little different from most peoples', but it works.
-
I gotta give a big shout out to The Early November...they are by far one of the chillest bands I've ever heard.
I can also vibe with Veil of Maya when I'm just trying to relax even though they're metal. \m/
-
Great to see more Pink Floyd fans.
-
I would have to say led zeppelin II

-

-
Dub Side of the Moon- awesome reggae style remix of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk that's why it is probably misspelled :)
