Freakiefrog has the best enchis I've ever seen... They look like fire enchis or hypo fire enchis lol. Even his stinger looks like a super enchi spider...:bow:.. I'll look for some enchi pics I have in a bit :gj:.

Enchi butters/lessers are one of my FAVORITE enchi combos! I would go for an enchi spider male or a pastel enchi male! They're not too expensive as they're becoming more available.
I do suggest ensuring that you get yourself a female whether you produce your own or you buy one :gj:. Looking for one is tough since most people do not let go of their lady enchis! If you produce one yourself with a hot hot hot male (-cough-freakiefrog-cough-markpetros-cough...), you can choose your own female to hold back, or hold back multiple :bow:.... Someone needs to make a "one does not simply have enough enchi females" meme lol. It's so true! I wish I had the funds to buy another one! I just purchased a female for future plans though... :P..
-
I'm drooling over this thread. I've been needing me some enchi in my life. Hopefully in the near future I can get me one.
-
Yeah I'm actually looking for a male. Take him to my bee, and maybe my butter after she gives me a BEL.

Your wish is my command lol... it is a very true statement. Hopefully late next season I can itch my scratch and produce a few hypo enchi combo girls in my first ever clutch...prayers to the odds gods starting now.

Re: Show me your enchi's
This is our 2 gene enchi boy from Mark Petros, genetic black back enchi male.
We have him slated to breed another enchi girl, a sugar girl and probably a butter female too.

So correct me if I'm wrong- Enchi is the reduced banded pattern. But is there a color standard? I've seen some more "yellowish" colored and some more "orangish" colored. Or do they hatch one color and progress to the yellow? Seems most hatchlings I've seen are the more orange. Which is better to look for to make combos with, when I'm looking at babies? Or does that not really matter, and boil down to personal preference?

I believe u want a really orange hatchling bc the orange keeps brightening and gets more yellowy with age. Lots and lots of yellow on the sides :D

To me what makes a good Enchi is the combo of good pattern, not reduced so much but an even pattern, and good color..
These are babie's before their first shed.

I found one I like, nice thick bands, minimal spots, and he's very orange. Didn't see any yellow, but am waiting for more pictures.

I love the thick bands! Remember, enchi babies can look completely different when they're older!:gj:
Can't wait to see your baby!

I'm a little late to the party, but here's my enchi:
When I got him last year:

And now at roughly 800-900g and as a proven breeder :D

I wish he had less spotting but I still like him.
