What would you consider the best examples of these morphs?
I would like to see what you guys think are the best examples of these morphs: Fire, Spotnose, Lesser/Butter, Black Pastel, Firefly, Butter/Lesser Ghost, and Yellow Belly. I will be getting all of these morphs to breed and I would like to get the highest quality possible, but to do that I need to know what high quality ones look like.
-
You can automatically tell what a quality example looks like if you look through pics of a said gene or combo. It's pretty much like sitting a Mercedes or a Ferrari next to a mo-ped.

Not to be snobby, but I think my lesser blackback is the best example of the morph I have seen to date:

So for a lesser/butter I would be looking for one with a cinnamon colored back, a high yellow color, lots of blushing/flames and/or a really reduced pattern, and for a fire a light color, lots of blushing/flames, reduced pattern, and a cool head spot.
Both of those snakes are amazing looking IMO :P

If she was three shades lighter Id say my girl would be my perfect fire.

I think with some it really depends on what you like. I personally love my butter but some might like one with a busier pattern.

I also think my spotnoses are really nice:

My fire could use some more flames/blushing but I think she's pretty nice, her color is good:

I'm down. From what you are looking for these are the only examples I have to show...
Firefly: I think she is a good example of a Firefly - pictured at 1100g

Lesser: A more reduced pattern, I haven't seen may like her - pictured at 950g

I typically prefer reduced patterns, but I would go for one with a more busy pattern if everything else about it is nice.
So for a firefly I would be looking for a lemon yellow color, tons of flames and blushing, a reduced pattern, and a white faded head, and for a spotnose I would be looking for one with a busy pattern, light stripe on the back, crazy head pattern, moustache, and light body color.
To me, butters look like mojaves and lessers put together

Another thing to remember is you likely will have to pay more for premium quality, so be prepared for that. Animals of this level do not come up often, and go for a premium when they do.
Also, IMO when you have a really great example of any morph, there should be ZERO doubt visually that it is what it is. From across the room it should scream YB, Fire, Lesser or whatever. Subtlety is rarely a good thing in this case.

That's an exellent example of a fire, I see why it was used on wobp
I know that a high quality snake will cost more than an average one, and I'm prepared for that. I'd rather have fewer good ones than a bunch that barely look different than normals.
The yellow belly is mine, I think she's a good example of her morph, and I can easily tell her apart from my normals.
That white spot by her tail, is that a ringer?

I can help out a bit!
Heres my fire male at 300grams. This is without flash but the natural light coming in thru the window makes him look kinda funny. This is the only pic i have where you can really see his awesome striping. Thats one of the things i fell in love with on him.

Heres one of him at 450ish grams. Hes in shed here but still looking pretty good imo. You can sorta see his headspot in this pic too.

And heres him next to my normal:

Heres my lesser gal i got at the last expo. I picked her for her blushing and her busier pattern. I prefer the busier patterns myself. Eventually she'll get some cinni mixed in with her and i think she will pair well with it! :gj:

Here's my lesser. He's a more creamy example of the morph.

Jerry's Yellowbellies hands down!!! No one can best those. A quality YB looks nothing like a normal. Sub-par one's do.
And angllady(Gale) has the best fires ever!

This is when she was 100g

This is my new baby lesser. Can't wait to see how she turns out. My breeder said she was suppose to be a hold back but he really needed the money for the up coming expos.

I need to stop looking at the photos you post of your YBs. Every time I see them, it makes me want to run over to Anna's and "borrow" hers lol. I am getting a pair from her in a few weeks though, so the YB itch will be scratched... for the time being. :D
Here's my lesser. He's pretty good looking and he has a nice personality.

Although not exactly what you're looking for, if you add pastel to him, you'll get something like my girl below... she's pretty good looking.

Re: What would you consider the best examples of these morphs?
I love my male Pinstripe because he has a reduced pattern. He just keeps getting better looking. Also, the camera can't pick it up but his head has an irredescent velvety look to it. Although he's got a bit of an attitude, but getting better with more handling.

I like my Ian G. black pastels, the female is very dark and the male has a nice solid black back. But I gotta say, the Liesen line black pastels generally blow all the other lines right out of the water.

Re: What would you consider the best examples of these morphs?
it's all in what you like. in butters / lessers, some like busy, some like clean. I like the clean look, but seen some that were busy and they also looked amazing.
here's my example of a lesser.
she's ovulating in this pic, breed to a reduced pattern clown. eggs are cooking right now in the incubator.
