    New BEL Complex... With Combos
I had been lacking Fires for awhile in my collection.... I decided I would jump into the fire project and bought a fire male from Matt Shifflett..... This fire was a CH.... and we were told they would make Black Eyed Lucys..... Pis were send and come to find out not one Black Eyed Lucy was created from these..... Just reference pics.... Well Matt made some Fire Flies that were incredible.... The "Fires" were insane as well..... Well I bred my male to a Mojave and produced a BEL with a little bit of face pattern.... My Mojave is not fire.... So it looks like we made a new Combo BEL Complex animal. This looks nothing like Het. Russos, Specials, Mojave, Lesser, Butter, Phantom, Mystic, Het. Platty, Mochas, Honeys, or any others I have missed. This appears to be something brand new to the BEL complex.

Wow that pastel mota is really nice looking. I would love to see some of the BEL babies out of the egg! Very cool! :gj:

Confused your whole post is about fires and making a new bel snake yet you post pictures of a mota?? Am I missing something? And I would say one of the snakes has to carry a bel gene because fire to mojo would not make a bel. Would be cool if you have some new weird gene going on though. Better pics of the bel to come?

Also what color are the eyes on the bel?

Please excuse any errors sent from my crap phone.

The original snake was bought as a CH Fire. There was a pic sent of what the super was, but the pic that was sent was a reference of what the "super" would look like. Come to find out there was never a super made with this particular snake. I bred the original snake that was sold as a CH "Fire" to a Mojave. I produced a BEL so we are now looking at a snake that is not a Fire, but a BEL complex. Hope this helps a little more.

Very cool, though only getting to see the super in an egg seems a bit unfair! :D

Awesome! Did you have a suspicion there might be a BEL complex gene in there before you paired to the mojave?

That is really awesome. Congrats! It was an inspired move to place that snake with a mojave!

See, I actually have a dinker male that I've been thinking looks like a mojave without the spots for a couple of years... and your mota looks a lot like him! But my super mojave girl is a slow grower, of course, so I won't get to test my awesome theory this year. (Anybody wanna lend me a full size mojave female?)

Hate to revive an old thread but has any more news been put out there on these guys? I really like the Mota gene but this thread is all that comes up when you do a Google search.
