600 g champagne female for $1000. Good price?
There is a guy on craigslist selling a female 600g champagne for $1000. Is this a good deal? Thanks

Sounds too good, be careful craigslist is a gamble. I would at least have it checked out by a vet before making that kind of craigslist deal.

Yes, if it is real. That is the lower end going rate for a hatchling right now.

Ok he told me that the reason he is selling her is that he needs $1000 to fix his car. I'm kinda skeptical as well. I'm gonna have to see her in person and have her checked out before I hand over any money

Be cautious, but I got a female pied a few years ago in a deal like this. She came to me in perfect health, and just dropped 7 eggs about a month ago.

Sometimes people will take a loss, for a faster sale in desperate times. Check carefully on it though.

I would be a little leery of it because it does border on fishy. Of course, it is possible so I would probably check it out, get pictures, and have it checked out by a vet before committing to it. But if it is true, that's a great deal!

It's always a good deal in the ad, that is until it's not. Sick, unhealthy, problematic and misrepresented animals are always available at a discount. Proceed with caution!

Wonder who they were stolen from is the first thing that came to my mind. Sometimes when a deal is too good to be true it's because someone acquired them without the owner knowing. It's kind of like rescuing from a pet store, it just encourages them to continue to business as usual.

But then, I am nothing if not skeptical, perhaps a tad more than necessary on occasion.

True, but my perticular deal was someone letting go of his entire collection including his racks, incubators, ball pythons, chondros, carpets, and some other stuff. Everything he had was in excellent condition with proper documentation. He was asking for a little more, but after a negotiation, that's the price we came to...:D

check it out in person make sure it's all good. CL isn't always bad like you hear maybe the seller is legit and posted on CL because it's the only place he knows that he could sell it

That's about the right price. I wouldn't pay any more than that for one that small but for that size that's right on par.

I have gotten plenty of good deals on craigslist, just check it out first and be sure its up to your standards and satisfaction.
Everyone on craigslist is not a thief or a criminal(times are hard for lots of folks and some times they have to do what they have to do,maybe fixing his car to get to work is more important than the market value of a ball python)

Several years ago I needed money pronto for an emergency and sold a few animals well below market value to raise the $$$. Nothing wrong with them I just needed money and had to take the hit. So it's reasonable that there is a legitimate reason he's selling so low.

I would be skeptical but wouldn't rule it out as a potentially good find.

Well I'm not sure what to think. On the phone he said 600g but I sent him an email as a back up and sure enough he replied that the snake was 500g:confusd:

it could be that he's not weighing but guessing the weight. all you have to do is ask to check it out before you decide to buy.
