One of the worst bites I've ever gotten. {Graphic Picture Warning!}

So it happened at last. Sometimes you think you've gotten to a place where the bite thing is not something you think about. You get careless or complacent. And that's when it happens. One of my girls got me good last night. She'd made a mess in her tub, so I knew it had to be changed out. She was all "S"'d up at me, so I knew she was cranky. But it was really late and I was really tired, I just wanted to get this over with. So I got her tub changed out and was ready to put her back. She was still in the strike position, but I wasn't worried about it. I figured I was quick enough to avoid her if she snapped at me. I was wrong. My heavy eyes and tired mind slowed my reflexes, and when she made her strike, she connected solidly with me. Lucky for me it was just a warning strike, or the damage would have been a lot worse. I got a good look at it once she was put away, and it is without a doubt one of the worst bites I've ever gotten from a Ball. I did get a picture, but those of you with weak stomachs have been warned. Scroll down to see the damage.

Wow that's the deepest bite I've seen. Normally when I wipe away the dot of blood, the pore closes up :O!

Reminds me of a bite I got in middle school.. Buncha kids were kicking at a black racer in a bush. I grabbed it and released through a chain-link fence where nobody could get at it. Sucker kept tagging me on the way but I wasn't about to let go with those jerks nearby. They sent me home advising my parents to take me to the hospital..

What a MONSTER! It's stories like this that make me think ALL exotics should be BANNED! How keeping them is legal IS BEYOND ME!!!

That is the worst bite ever! I don't know how yourself it through. Good luck with the recovery. It's gonna be long and slow

Not gunna lie I did laugh. I was expecting blood dripping, then just one dot. That's not even a full drop of blood. Hope you have a smooth and safe recovery, hope the hospital bill is covered under you insurance!:gj:

Truthfully, I had a good laugh myself. Who doesn't love a hatchling who thinks it's the most viscous thing on earth ?

I knew others would get a kick out of it. With all we hear every day about how dangerous our pets are, maybe if we could show people how "dangerous" they really are, people would change their mind about snakes.

Lol nice! Welcome to the bite club! Once you get bit it's kind of funny how scared/worried you were before about getting bit. Few people believe me that getting bit by a kitten is far worse!

LOL you had me going "whaaaat no way, a ball python did damage...?!" So they'll probably have to put her down now for being a man(woman)-biter, huh? That's too bad but once they get the taste for blood it's all they want.

Uh-ohhh hopefully gangrene doesn't set in! Lol

after that one i'd be if you didn't have ptsd now surprised! this was awesome showed my 10 year old who "owns" all 10 of our balls and she said that looks like it hurt a lot, like getting a shot, lol. good stuff!!!!
