Not what I expected.. what do you think?!

So I bought a normal female gravid that was supposedly bred to a Russo Lucy. Today I cut the eggs and 3 of them are not normal Russo's .. What are they?!?!

what day is it? babies dont get their color till the last few days.

I'm wondering too what day they are at in incubation. Color is the last thing that develops.

Depending on what day it is, they could be most anything.

I was thinking the same thing, but not knowing what day these eggs are on, its kinda hard to say.

he said it when i talked to him on the phone a couple hours ago lol. Im thinking they kinda look like lessers but im not an expert.

Looks kinda ghost-y. And like a caramel. Hard to say, like everyone else we will need to know what day they are on...

Yes, day 50. Sorry just remembered I posted this . Please, if your going to jump my ass for cutting on day 50 jump elsewhere. I guess I'll wait and see.

I Cant believe you cut on Day 50!!! omg thats crazy jk, just had to do it since you said don't:D, i would give them till wed/thur and take a few more pictures and we might be able to get some more ideas.
me personally, going with either lesser or noms that dont got color yet.

People have cut much earlier. Do what your comfortable with. Keep us updated with pics and progress. I'd like to see what they are :D

One of them developed full color. and it should be a Russo because of the pairing.. heres a pic

I'm going to say anyway that you shouldn't have cut that early. You wouldn't even have needed to post if you had waited like you should have, for the babies health. *shrug* I'm the minority about this though and you'll do what you'll do. This probably won't convince you at all that you shouldn't cut, or that you should wait until the end to cut. I hope I'm wrong though, and you learned from this that you should wait.

I respect that, maybe I should have waited but cutting on day 50 isn't crucial nor is it necessary. I felt comfortable with it though and no I wont cut this early again just because of my questions and differentials with this clutch. I'm just hoping for the best, meaning some lessers and russo's.

Not to jack this thread but cutting on day 50 is nothing. Another point is the way the eggs were cut in that triangle shape, that flap will re-seal itself.

Day 50 is not that early. A lot of people cut before that. Yes they are experienced with doing it and are comfortable doing it. The OP was comfortable cutting at day 50 so he did. Everyone has their own comfort level with cutting. It also depends on incubation temps. Day 50 may have been fine at higher temps whereas its earlier with lower temps...

Will color be done by day 55?

It doesn't have anything to do with the day, really, just with the developmental stage. I have actually had some babies hatch without much color, and color up a day or two afterward.

This is actually just a lesser platinum, even though it looks like it could be a lesser-woma due to the lack of color. It took her a couple of days to color up.

Gotchya.. I'm hoping for lessers and hoping the "Russo White Diamond" was just a lucy with a different combo of morphs.. :please:
