    Ultra Josie and Thoughts.....
So I know lots of people want to know about my Josie and Ultra Josie.

Well I do not like to keep thing from people so I will tell you first hand what I think...... The Josie was a back burner project..... I never thought anyone would care about a jungle like Incomplete Dominate (or for you non genetic people) Co-Dom Ball Python.

I bred my Original Male Josie to a Virgin Normal. I just wanted to make more females as my sex ratio sucked..... She made no females.... Go Figure... But she did make the Ultra Josie. This female was a virgin and I she looks normal to me..... So I had no Idea why this insane Bright snake poped out.

Most people thought it was the super and I knew it was not. I have not made a Super Josie yet.

I thought maybe somehow the Ultra Josie was a Desert Ghost Josie (some random chance the female and my Josie were both het Desert Ghost.... which many of us thought)

Well I bred this Ultra to a non related Lesser and I produced an Ultra Josie.... Might be Two.... And some other weird babies.

So this is what I know.......

    Josie is its own gene

The Ultra is a Combo.... Or it would not have been able to recreate itself.

I hatched out an Ultra Josie.. Maybe Two, Two other not normals which I would assumer are the Ultra Gene and some Weird Lesser???

    So here is the conclusion.

The Ultra Josie Recreated itself.... So it is not a Super and Not An Allele.

The Ultra Josie is a Josie and Some Other Morph.

The Josie is an Incomplete Dominate Gene (or to the ones who still do not understand genetics a "Co-Com" Gene"

What makes the Ultra is unknown, but I am pretty sure I hatched the single gene.

I hope this answers most questions :)

Pretty sure the bottom two are the gene that reacted to make the Ultra

Here is the Ultra Josie I just hatched..... Again this was to a non related Josie Female

Thanks for sharing Joe. Hope we could do DNA testing on the ultra josie's mom.

I am not sure why you are calling the "Josie" ball anything other than a normal. Is it just the pattern that you are referring to with it? I can see the different in the Ultra but not the regular. Thanks in advance for any clarification that you provide.

Always love a new guy in the market who says my Josie Balls are normals..... Trust me I have been around long enough to know this Josie is no "normal"

Have you seen the Pastel Josie???

    Pretty sure you have not..

I am a nice guy, but trust me I am not one to call a normal a morph to get attention....

They're really stunning Joe. The Ultra Josie looks like if someone took color markers and had a lot of fun and skills to paint a beautiful snake! Also the Josie is beautiful, especially like their head patterns. Now that we have at least one new morph, or more likely two new ones, you should think about a "backup" of these genes...central Europe seems to be a good place if you ask me, predictable clime, the Alps, almost earthquake save...me with shining eyes....and we use the term incomplete dominant ;)

I like the Josies. I think you'll have an easier time getting folks to stop saying 'co-dom' if you find a way to shorten 'incomplete dominant' to two syllables. ('in-dom'?)

Josies don't look normal, they have a jungle pattern. Most jungles proved to not be genetic, but everyone kept trying, hoping for...well, the Josie.

I see why you think this additional morph must be on the same locus as Josie, proving Josie to be incomplete dominant. Are you going to name the morph 'ultra'? Or something else? (Unless it turns out to be something already known, of course).

Thanks for sharing them again! Really cool gene! I can't wait to see what it does to some of the other morphs out there.

The ultra looks a lot like a Desert... am I wrong? Not saying it is, just look similar.. Either way nice.

At first I thought the Ultra Josie was just a Josie Desert Ghost. But after seeing it recreated itself, I now know it is not. I like how it looks though

Not a "new guy in the market" but thanks for feeling the need to be condescending to someone who you assume has less experince than you. I got my first ball 7 years ago but have never bred them so maybe you're a higher class "ball citizen" than I am.

Yes, that is the first time I'd seen the patel Josie, and your first post was also the first time that I'd seen the Josie or Ultra Josie. Clearly there is something going on there, which I acknowledge in my post. If you read my post again maybe you'll notice that I am simply asking what makes the Josie special. I assumed it was the jungle pattern but figured that since it's your project you could answer the question. Also, you may notice on a second read that I never accused you of calling a normal something special to get attention.

All that aside, good luck with the project.
