New pickup! Help ID morph?
Just picked up this proven breeder female crestie. She is gorgeous! I'm not good with crestie morphs so any help would be nice. I was thinking she might be a harlequin....

Also, the guy I got her from said she might be laying some eggs in a couple weeks! This would be my first clutch it that was the case, so any and all tips would be appreciated!

Oooh, she's pretty!
Hard to tell on the morph - She has some Harlequin in her, minor pinstriping and some Tiger in her. Very nice! So I guess I'd say a Yellow Tiger Harlequin with Pinstriping, myself. ;)
If she does lay eggs, VERY CAREFULLY remove them from her enclosure and put them in either Reptibark or verminculite (<--- Might have mispelled that, lol) and keep them moist. Before you remove them, tho, find a marker and very very lightly mark the top of the egg - this way, you won't roll them. If they are rolled, you will most likely kill the babies. Also, she might burry them - mine always make me dig for the eggs! XD
Once the babies have hatched, keep them on paper towels (damp) in separate enclosures - I would recommend small critter keepers. After the first 24 hours, offer them some repashy and a few pinhead crickets. They grow up fast!
Congrats on the new addition, and best of luck on the eggs! ^.^
(Wait to you see your first baby - OMG they are so CUTE!!!)

Id mostly agree with the above but the Harley part. She looks like a yellow and cream tiger fire. Not really enough pinstriping to say pinstripe. Crestie morphs can be interpretated in various ways though.

It is hard to put ones finger on the exact morph of a Crested, yeah. I did say "some" pinstriping because, while it's not a full Pinstripe, there is some there. :) She looks like a yellow version of my male, who gave me a full Pinstripe this season - she'll make gorgeous babies, whatever she is! ;)

Tell me about it! Females are hard as heck to find, and expensive when you do find 'em! Wish I had spotted this lil' girl, lol. Three out of my four females I got out of luck - raised from hatchlings. The fourth I saved up for, for several months.
Try Kingsnake.com, tho - sometimes you'll catch a female there at a decent price. ;)

Great! so "yellow and cream tiger fire" or "Yellow Tiger Harlequin with Pinstriping" are places for me to start when trying to tell people what morph she is, if the question comes up. :gj:
I actually got her from a guy on craigslist who was trying to get rid of 1.3 cresties and their set ups for $300! I only needed 1 female though and he gave her to me for $75 plus some CGD and a cute little critter keeper for me to travel with.
He still has 1.2 geckos available. He is near Tampa, FL. I don't know if he would be willing to ship but if you are in that area you should send him a message!
I couldn't believe she was only 75 bucks considering most breeder size females I've seen at shows have been closer to 150 or 200 and they weren't even as pretty as this girl is.
Since you guys are on a roll, mind taking a stab at what morph(s) my male is? I got him as a baby and just enjoyed having him as a pet but now I want to take a little venture into breeding :)
These pictures are about 2 or 3 months old

Wow! Gorgeous girl, but I couldn't even begin to pin her morph - Tiger sounds about right. Your boy tho - holy cow! He looks like what my should be once he's all grown up. I'm thinking a halloween (orange and black/brown harlequin) by the photos. Otherwise a cream and brown harlequin, if the color's just distorted by the camera. Very nice boy, I'll be excited to see the babies if you're planning on breeding him with that girl!

Wow, VERY nice boy there!!! He's gorgeous!
Side markings aren't high enough for Harlequin, but he's beautiful all the same. :D He's a very nice and very dark Chocolate Fire or maybe a DarkFire, I'd say. ;) I actually have a breeding pair of Halloween Harlequins, and they have more orange in them. :)
Those two will make stunning babies for you. ;D
Wish I lived near Florida, lol. X3

Thanks everyone! I'll keep you guys posted on how things go and if she lays some eggs for me in a couple of weeks :)

The problem with Crestie Morphs is that everybody identifies them differently. Some people combine traits in describing them, but most I've met will identify a single prominant aspect of the morph and use that as the describing term for their animal.
Unlike BPs, what traits a Crestie shows does not always transfer to their offspring. It's more of a 'mixed bag' when it comes to genetics. You could get ones that always look like Mom or Dad, or babies that look like neither. Very different from Ball Python genetics.
I would call your girl a Cream Tiger.
The striping on your girl is very consistant over her entire body. Most harliquinns I've seen have their dominant 'lighter' pattern along their sides. They are usually significantly lighter in this area, with a darker dorsal, and a lighter stripe down the back. When I see your girl, I'm not thinking Harley. I'm thinking Tiger. And a very very very nice Tiger at that.
Female creams are very hard to come by and highly prized, obviously.
I have a Buckskin Tiger at home with Dalmation spots. I identify him as a Tiger right now, because that is his most prominant characteristic. Dalmation spots are usually a secondary characteristic for describing an animal. The only time that changes is when the amount of spots reaches about 200+. Then the animal's description usually switches over to 'Super Dalmation'. So: Buckskin Super Dalmation. But since my guy doesn't have that amount of spots yet, he is defined as a: Buckskin Tiger with Dalmation Spots.
So for your girl, I would describe her as a very heavy Cream Tiger, which is a wonderful morph.
I do not see any Pinstriping. At least, not enough to define her as a description for her morph. She does look to possibly be a Harley instead of a Tiger, but her light body type makes that very difficult to tell. Since it's not screaming Harley at me, I'd go with Tiger.

It's been a week and a half since I brought this girl home and this morning there was evidence that she had been digging around her lay box!
No eggs yet. If she just started poking around her lay box when can I be expecting her to lay?
Also, what is your preferred substrate for incubating crestie eggs?

Your female is an extreme harlequin. For her to be a tiger, the patterning would need to be basically the same as her base color but slightly darker and her dorsal color would not vary much, if any, from her base color. Because her dorsal color and patterning are the same and are completely different than her base color, she is a harlequin. She just has a lot of harlequin patterning, giving the tiger-like appearance. The male is a flame with a small amount of partial pinstriping.
If she is digging, you can expect eggs at any time. Could be tonight, could be several days--just check her lay box each day until you find eggs. :) Some will dig just to dig, but generally gravid females dig the most when they are very close to laying. I use 100% perlite (no additives) or Hatchrite to incubate crested gecko eggs in Rubbermaid containers.
