wat is a cool looking snake that is kinda on the smaller size

There are a huge variety of ball python morphs that are cool looking. What do you like (colors, patterns)? How much are you willing to spend?

Corn snake.

Hognose and sand boas are some smaller snakes that are pretty cool.

I also recommend a corn snake. They don't get too big, there are some awesome colour strains out there. They are very docile and easy to keep :)

What do you mean by "kinda on the smaller size"? And what do you mean by "cool looking" - bright colors, odd pattern, etc.?

Retics stay small, compared to a buss :). I would say look at ball, corns, hogs, garters, milks, any colubrids.

does anyone have a garter snake and or know anything about it
