Repticon Chicagoland!

I totally didn't know there was a Repticon here in Chicago this year!!!! I bought VIP tickets for next weekend July 28-29.

I hope to see some of you guys there! We should meet up! Maybe go out for dinner or lunch??

Nobody?? Surely some of you are going :) If you are in the city let me know and maybe we could carpool!

I would love to go! But, sadly, I have work at the zoo during the times mentioned. And it's an hour away so even if I leave early, I wouldn't be able to make it. I'll try talking to manager, but, there's no guarantee I'll be able to go.

I'll be making the hour drive both days. I'm so excited for a big show. I was dreading waiting until October for NARBC Tinley! I need more reptiles now!! lol

Brookfield Zoo haha. You should come visit!

The one in October isn't very far from my house, and I'll probably just crash at my friends who lives not too far from there so I can go both days.

I should. You know, I have never been to brookfield zoo! One of these days...

Yeah Tinley is only about 30 minutes from where I live in the city. I expect to see you there both days!

Every time I end up going to the zoo I just go to the lincoln park zoo. It's free and actually pretty nice! I'll make it to Brookfield sometime this summer. What do you do there? Something with reptiles I hope??

I'm actually an interpreter, so I talk about the importance of the specific animal (It changes every day, but, I request to stay by the reptiles). For instance yesterday I was talking about Harbor Seals, Burmese, Rock, Reticulated pythons as well as Dolphins and other animals.

That's really cool! How did you get that gig? I loooove talking about animals :)

Applying and then an interview. There's a couple of hundred of applicants, but, less than a hundred are picked. It's also a volunteer thing, but, they also say it's considered a job. Once I graduate high school I can't be in it anymore, so I'll get a job there.

That's awesome! Seems competitive, you are lucky to have the job! Even if it's only volunteer work, it's something to put on the ole resume :) I'll make sure to go there when you are working so I can see you in action, lol!

I work all day during the week so that works out :) I'll get there this summer sometime. My boyfriend and I have been meaning to go to the zoo. :P
