    Updated Dinker Pics
Just a few more pics of our dinker we hatched out this year. He came from a clutch of pastel X dinker and had one very normal sister, 2 pastel siblings, and a brother with the same exact characteristics. "Mario", due to the mustache, is just over 100g now and is looking more orange as he grows. I love the tiger shark smile, light head print that is even more evident in person, mustache, and most of all the huge contrast of his blacks against the orangish/yellow color. The pattern is pretty wild too.

Plans are to breed him back to his mother next year along with a couple other lucky girls if he's up to it.

    Your thoughts? Thanks again!

What an interesting little guy. I'm still learning morphs and whatnot, so I can't even begin to comment on anything genetically. But he definitely has a look to him. Is it possible to post pictures of his brother, and your parent Dinker? I'd be curious to see the trio.

These are the only pics I have of the dinker mother right now. She is obviously different with her odd pattern and you can't tell but the color is unique too. Kind of a greenish orange hue which the babies seem to be coming into. Wish I had some better pics other than these in taken in bad lighting.

Here's the other male hatchling with identical characteristics to the one I already posted. Both he and the mother have since been given to my brother in another city. She was here on a breeding loan.

Both of the hatchlings share the same single lined belly patter of spots down the middle.

I can't tell if mom shares the spotnose-like head stamp, but she does share the the spots along the side that all seem to be at the exact same height. Interesting, keep us updated!

Thanks, she does share color and pattern similarities but she doesn't have the same face markings. She also has a slight head stamp although it's not as pronounced as the two young males have.

I would think that if it was just a couple of traits passed down that all of the babies would have them. Instead it seems like a co-dom/dom morph the way only two of the five had these traits, and they were exactly the same. Can't wait for next year's breeding season to learn more!

Nice looking girl damotmf. I love the connected patterns and especially how clean she is!

Thanks for all of the encouraging replies. I'm curious if any of the members here recognize these animals as any known morph? I've looked at all of them I can find and nothing matches them exactly although some come very close. Obviously the spotnose has the head print and often the spotting on the snout. The Josie is probably the closest I've found to matching up with the face but the pattern and color seem a bit different. I realize there are variations with all morphs but there are also consistencies and that is what I'm primarily looking at.

If this does prove out (Big If!) I'd like to test it against known morphs to see if it is something unique. Any thoughts for future test breedings?

Looks like a spotnose to me. Even has a spot on his nose.
