UGH I need new internet, .08 mbps REALLY?!

Ok, I am finally sick of my internet and it has been long enough now that better internet is cheaper. I live in rural Iowa, a town of 2,000 and we can't get crap here! Pretty much all we have here is Mediacom. I have Dish for TV and even they can't help me with internet because none of these places are available in my town: Verizon, at&t, Clear, EarthLink, Century Link, Windstream, Frontier, HughesNet and TDS. Sooo pretty much we have nothing here. I'm using a satellite internet from SpeedConnect, they used to be ComSpeed, they say I can get 'up to' 10 mbps, but the highest I have seen today is .72... absolute garbage! It's really starting to piss me off that I'm paying $40 a month for that, I should just make my dang phone a hot spot and use its' internet for that price!

Does anyone use mediacom just for internet? I'm afraid it's going to be outrageous and they always have so many loopholes and gimmicks. It looks like I can get just internet from them for $39.99 after their 12 month discount thing and it's for 10 mbps so a heck of a lot better than what I have for less money.

Does anyone have any other ideas? I don't know what to do, I'm sick of this internet and I have next to no options.

I use my phone for my internet. Not sure if that is a realistic option for you or not. But I can accomplish most anything I want from my phone. I haven't learned how to link a thread in a post, like say the care sheet. I'm not exactly a computer whiz. :rolleyes:

Kinda like i pay $85 a month to verizon for my iphone yet i still dont get unlimited data. Yea screw you verizon! >:(

Oh but this is another tick in the minus column for Iowa... Youre not sweating your ass off but you cant access the interwebs... Hmmmm lol

Lol its just the tiny towns that don't have many options for internet! :) and trust be we have been hot, my car said it was 107 yesterday!

I hear AT&T internet is okay, you pay for what you get if you get it out there. When you have piss poor suddenlink who read 54 Mbps and you're running like 2 with zero bandwidth.

If you have other choices, avoid satellite internet. It is the worst internet you can get besides dial-up.

satellite internet sucks we have HughesNet and i NEVER had internet so slow, cant wait until next year so i can cancel them and get their giant dish out of my yard.
