    Correction.."venomous" Mike, not "poisnonous"! :P

    All spiders are venomous!
Its just that some are harmful to humans and other are not.
That little guy looks nasty but I have no idea about the species...

It is not a BW or a Brown Recluse, so it is not terribly venomous. Other than that I am no help, lol.

Depending on how big it is, it's hard to tell from the picture. But here in Ga we call them Wolf Spiders. They get HUGE, but they are harmless to humans. Usually in ga, the bigger the spider, the less harmful it is.

They are rabid wolf spiders(Rabidosa rabida). They can bite but usually don't. They are all over my yard and I don't worry about them. Just catch them and put them back outside and let them eat up all the annoying bugs.

It's a wolf spider. When they end up in your house they messed up and accidentally wandered in there. They generally stay outside and make webs that look like the funnel webs that funnel web spiders make in bushes and crevices. They are all over the place by me. Mostly outside around my house and where I work but sometimes I find one inside and they freak out and run away when I go near them.

They are big and creepy but they shouldn't harm you. They are not aggressive.

If they were found roaming in the house then they are undoubtedly not members of the family Agelenidae, or sheet web (not funnel web) spiders. I've kept sheet web spiders in the past and every one that escaped from an enclosure was found at most 3 feet away from the enclosure with a new sheet web and attached funnel. No self-respecting :) agelenid would roam about a house and not stop to make a web. I would say that it is a wolf spider, family Lycosidae, which do not build webs for the purpose of prey capture. The only thing that wolf spiders use silk for is to make egg sacs; they are hunters as opposed to being a sit and wait (web) predator.

Wolf spiders creep me out too.. The other day I opened the screen door just in time to hear my fiance yell NO! Stop! before I knew it I looked down and a Huge wolf spider came running toward me! Fortunately he didnt make it farther then my kitchen thanks to my trusty cat. They bite but I have never been bitten by one that I know of. Most of the time they are just curious as to what you are doing.. friendly little creeps.. they have no boundaries.
