    Who is your favorite snake??
Not a species, but a particular snake from your collection, and why? Because of the morph? Because of personality? Or?? Curious to see everyone's "favorite child" lol... Pictures welcome......

Mine is a toss up between my bee, pastel, and boa. All because of personality. For my bee, besides personality I love her look. My pastel is just a great big puppy dog. And my boa has the coolest curious mellow personality. I don't have a good pic of my pastel, but here is my bee and boa.

My Poss het albino female, Angel! she was my first snake it took me years to convince my mom to let me get one, mean while we had a 3x3x6 ft cage in our living room for our black rough next monitor, and a room for my argus monitor pair:O. but snakes give her the creeps lol, she still doesn't like them but she doesn't mind them now, she likes when i bring new snakes home and she can see the variation of colors of them. she does love my bearded dragon tho(we use to breed them before i went to college and had to sell everything)
one day i will hope to prove angel out since she was sold to me as a het albino female like 6 years ago but i have no paper work one her:(, so if i hit on a albino black pastel in my future breedings he will be used to prove her out hopefully.

Mine would be my GTP. I love how she displays and how active she is at night. I am really enjoying being able to handle her now that I have tamed her down. She hasn't bit me in weeks. Lol!

I'm gunna have to say my female pastel ball python, hands down. She isn't our most valuable ball, but she is a bottomless pit and for some reason stands out for me. My wife will tell you her male pastel is her favorite. Can't wait to pair them up in a year or so!

Favorite snake in my collection is our Mojave, Mara. She, imo, is one of the more beautiful mojaves I've seen.. unfortunately she's always a pain to get a picture of, and the best photo I currently have is too purple due to the light I had at the time (will try more tonight, in the sun!) She is an excellent ambassador snake, and is great about just hanging out in one spot and being nice.

    http://www.soundexotics.com/img/MojaveMPG3.jpg

I love my carpet too, but she is ornery when getting her out of her cage, and she requires close attention when out.. she's very good at casually disappearing. The blood python we just picked up is really growing on me too, but since he's still so new, and we got him in blue, I'm forced to give him some space to get settled in.

My first snake! My unsexed normal that i got from petco back when i did everything wrong and was a noob. I think its a he but hope its a she lol. Anyways Indy is my favorite. Always eats and has the best personality. Not head shy at all. Whenever someone who is unsure of snakes but wants to handle one, i give them Indy. Hes the best. My pastel girl is a close second though. She comes right out of the tub and wants to be held evertime. Not headshy at all either. Kinda active and hard to get back in the tub like a boa lol.

If I HAVE to pick a favorite, lol, from my current snakes, I would choose Peaches. Mainly because of her personality: she is the sweetest, gentlest, most curious snake I've ever met - and she is shy in a bashful sort of way which adds to her endearment. And to top it off, when she was just a wee little worm and her personality hadn't developed yet, I named her after my dad - the most wonderful man in the world, someone who hated snakes and any other reptiles with a built-in passion, but never squashed a young daughter's passion for animals or her curiosity and desire to try something new, and always referred to her with love as his "Peaches". Sorry to get sentimental, but Peaches really epitomized my dad. So here she is....

Its tough to pick a favorite but my first girl I got from petsmart is my favorite. She has always had an amazing temperament and I credit her for breaking me into ball pythons with a 6 month long hunger strike when I brought her home. :taz:

Well, technically I have two especial favorites, and no I can't choose one of them over the other.

Akashi is my pride and joy, and until she blessed me with a clutch of 12 eggs, was the biggest girl in my collection. She is huge, nearly 6' long, but she's as gentle as a lamb. She is a very beautiful snake, lovely reduced pattern and lots of bright blushing. She and I have a kind of bond, I guess is the word. She knows when I am happy or sad, or stressed out. She loves to hang out with her mommy, and we frequently just gaze into each others eyes. She is such a special snake to me, and is completely irreplaceable, even though she's "just a normal".

Koroku on the other hand is a pastel male. And not a very nice one at that. I found him at a show, and to this day I don't know how I ended up buying him and bringing him home. This thread is his back story. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-you-at-a-show He is the epitome of a docile ball python. He's puppy dog tame, and loves kids. He's been a big hit at a few functions I've taken him to, even the little tiny ones just adore him. I love his sweet personality, his willingness to make friends, his patience and just general " no big deal mom" attitude.

I couldn't see the pictures in the back story on your guy. But that's how my pastel is, just, "whatever" mellow, not head shy, such a great ambassador for bps. He was our second bp. Our daughter spent her own money on our first, (who was a juvenile) because she wanted it. (I was still easing into not being afraid of snakes at this point). When we met my pastel, he was grown, the guy knew my uneasiness with snakes, and just flat dumped this big baby in my arms. At that very moment, I melted and fell in love with snakes. It's all because of him, that I am where I am today. I think patient might be a great way to describe him.

For me it is a deadlock tie between my dumeril's boa (Nergal) and my carpet python (Shagrath)

    Nergal:

I love my Dumeril's boa because she is so calm and certainly is my favorite as far as colors and pattern goes.

I love my Carpet Python because he is so active and daring.

The 2 are polar opposites but yet I can't chose between them. sometimes I prefer one, but the next day I prefer the other.

Thats a tough call. My Dum (Leela) is the sweetest most awesome snake ever, but my BP is a garbage can that will eat anything- and is really great with kids.

    Leela:

Sasha, my coral albino, probably has to win this one. I love my normal BP girl dearly, but she can still be a bit of a snot XD On the other hand Sasha is a big old sweetheart. She's a little headshy, but all she does is pull back and give me a look anytime I accidentally bop her head. She's the only one I take out in public yet (only to my local little pet shop so far, everyone there is really great. I want Sasha to be a big ambassador one day but thats the only practice she gets right now), and she's been nothing but mellow and curious. She's a fantastic traveler too, as soon as she's in her pillow case she just gets comfy and chills for the entire drive. It helps that she's gorgeous, and not a color/morph a lot of people have seen in person, so she gets some great attention from people when she's out.

Re: Who is your favorite snake??
    I don't have a "collection" but I wanted to play along. :)
Medusa is our very first BP- even though she's a baby ball, her personality is what won us all over. She seems curious, and not overly shy.

I really just wanted to thank all of you for sharing your very cool pics of your snakes. Its great to see so many different types.

    here's our baby :)

My favorite snake is my male normal that I have had for two years. I had to give up all of my other snakes but there was no way I could part with my best buddy in the whole world. I love my guy to pieces!

    That is a great picture.

I'd say Daenerys, my BCI is my favorite. Very laid back and eats like a champ. I just love the colors on a normal BCI.

Seeing alot of people saying they love their boas the best. Kinda funny for a site named Ball-Pythons :P

I don't know if I can really pick a favorite between Monty and Ember, my first pair of BPs. As my first snakes/reptiles, they hold a lot of sentimental value to me. Monty has the sweet personality, winning over EVERY person who has held him, and Ember is just so pretty!

    Ember, 2010 pastel

My pine snake girl is also growing on me, she's very very inquisitive and always in motion. She also doesn't do her best to lunge out of my hands every time I get her out to change water/spot clean now. It's been interesting watching her "personality" develop as she calms down. Don't have any new pics, but here's one from when I first got her

I only have the two and I really cant pick :) I love them both!

Pretzel was my first, so no matter how iffy she gets or how many times she refuses to strike her food, in my eyes she can do no wrong :) She reminds me of myself sometimes :)

Munch however... He is just a peach. He never strikes at anyone, isn't headshy, is insanely cute, soooo docile and just a pleasure to be around. He's so funny and I love him so so much :) :D I think I've got a special place in my heart for him because we've been through the wars with him :wuv:

Pretzel wearing herself as a hat.... :D

...and Munch trying to be my hat! :D
