    Price Question
So I've noticed that, in general, females sale for more than males. I was wondering how to determine a female price for a particular morph. For most things I just got to KS and Fauna and search to get an idea. But I am only finding males for the specific morph I want to sell. So what would you do? Is there a rule of thumb percentage to hike up the female price?

Say the average male is $100. What would the female be?

    Thanks.

It depends on the quality of the animal alot too. If you have a picture that would help and id toss out an estimate. I cant think of a morph where the males avg $100 except for maybe an average looking pastel or yellowbelly.

I was just throwing that out as an example since I thought it would be easier to do math on. The real price I am looking at is $700 on average for a male.

    Have you tried this site?

    http://www.snakemarket.com/

It seems to do a pretty good job of looking through various ads and showing prices.

Don't forget to factor is weight as larger females will sell for higher prices as well :gj:

Thanks. It's neat but still in beta. It only found 2 ads when I found 4 on my own between KS and Fauna.

I think it depends on the morph. It could be anywhere from 10-50% higher. This only seems to apply to morphs that have been around for some time and are more readily available. For example, Banana males $40k, females $10k.

I guess i would base my price on snake market first then use the classifieds as a guideline.
Depends on the quality...don't under sell yourself when it comes to prices if you've got quality snakes, which i know you do. Maybe start on the higher end, you can always lower your prices if they don't seem to sell.

What animal are you trying to sell? Is there a reason you didn't tell us what it was? It really would help quite a bit more if we knew lol.

Can I do that? I don't want it to be construed as advertising. I'll tell you in a PM though.

I don't think it's a problem posting what it is as long as you aren't trying to sell in the thread. I mean if you what is she worth then people can reply what they think not what your asking. As long as you never put an asking price on the animal in the thread I see no problem. Maybe I'm wrong but either way if you dont want to post it will you pm me what it is too.

OK so. I'll just put a little disclaimer that the animal isn't officially for sale yet. It's not even shed. But in a few shorts weeks I want to know what I should put my female Albino Pastel out there for.

Not really sure on this one but I'd put a price range of $900-1100 depending on the quality and how long your willing to care for the animal waiting on a buyer who is willing to pay your price.

    Re: Price Question
Id start her at around $900. Ive seen a few albino pastels out there (males around $700) but they dont seem to sell. There was a pair at the Tampa repticon (male $400, female $600) and they were still there at the end of the weekend.

Iam no expert or anything but from what i have noticed for your basic morphs, going to refer to you avg $100 for a male, a female would sell for $200 i have noticed a 50% mark up on females but like everyone else is saying it depends on the morph, quality, and the size and dont sell yourself short...start your price on the high side..you can always come down, more difficult to go up hope this helps

just did some research on your last post since we know what morph we are dealing with and from what i can see a decent price would be $500-$600 i found 2 for sale for 600+ and a male for 700

I think I will follow the advise of many and start high and come down to the point which I won''t take less for. I have no problem keeping it if no one wants it. It's a superb specimen.
