MY new baby is gorgeous , I cant wait to show you guys some pics. Hes exploring every inch of his enclosure. I didnt think he would be so active when I put him inside but hes goin everywhere he possibly can. And my wife who was deathly afraid of me bringing a snake home cant stop looking at him in his cage, shes just mezmerized by him! :o

So the plot is working! :) That's great. Now all you need is voiceovers by Marlon Perkins.

That's WONDERFUL news! I'm glad to hear he is so active. Have you checked him over for little nasties yet? I'm sure he is one healthy little goober...

I looked him over as he was inside the little plastic container he was shipped in, he looked fine to me ,I probably should have taken a closer look though, guess I was too excited to remember to check him real close. His skin is beautifel, no runny nose or mouth, he finaly settled in his hot hide wich is bout 90 degrees, so Im guessing hes happy to be outa the UPS truck and into a nice warm bed. :P
Oh almost forgot. The breeder e-mailed me and said he would be ready for a meal in 2 days, thats kinda soon dont you think?

That's so good to hear. ESPECIALLY knowing you are trying and DOING everything right before you got him. So, congrats on the new healthy addition. :)
I'm sure what he meant by "ready" was the last time he ate was 4 or 5 days ago. You should wait a week (4-5 days) before trying to feed him. Even 7 if you wish. BUT, you could try to offer sooner if you feel he has settled in. I have fed a new arrival that was here for 2 days and he ate just fine, and has yet to refuse a meal 6 months later. SO, it's all in the individual snake. But, since you don't know too much about the little guy yet, I would say just wait 4 or 5 days, then feed him what he usually ate at Alex's place. :)

My girlfriend went through the same thing! She was totally against my getting a snake, and gave me the silent treatment... when I first got Bongo, she wouldn't go anywhere near my room (not good for the love life!) and it took her a good two months before she would even pet him. One time he was about to put down a big F/T mouse and she was sitting near the cage cheering him on, yes we are both odd people, and he got confused and struck at the glass... she ran out screaming and it was back to ground zero. Six months later, of course, it went from being "that thing" to "the snake" to "Bongo" to "our snake" :?
I guess it goes to show that almost anyone can warm up to a snake after time and education. Oh man, this is a riot, she used to think that snakes would poison your food, like seriously sneak into the kitchen and inject a cookie or something. I couldn't believe that one! I'm sure your wife will totally warm up to your BP after time :)
