    Work rant
Omg! I am so annoyed right now. Needed to rant, so I don't blow up at my dumb lazy coworker.

I work at a small liquor store. I like most of my coworkers.. Except one..

    She's a ditzy 18 year old who's 7 months pregnant.

And, since she's pregnant, she does literally nothing.

I'm so frustrated. I've been workin on liquor pallets since I started at 430. I'm almost done. She has literally done NOTHING since she started. She hasn't even restocked the front. So now I get to run around with my head cut off finishing pallets, and restocking the entire store while she sits on her butt, looking at her phone or using the computer.

    Anyone else have lazy coworkers?!

Someone needs a swift kick in the pants.

I worked my tail off until the day I delivered.

Don't you just want to scream when you have to deal with people like that ?

For some reason, I thought that you had to be 21 to work in bars and liquor stores...

Just keep doing your job. Your Supervisor will notice where the load is being pulled...

Where do you live? I feel like its highly illegal for an 18 year old to work in a liqour store in CT. One time i walked into one just to see if they were selling cranberry juice (bc i was already in that part of the shopping center and didnt feel like driving across the street to the grocery store lol). I had zero intentions of even attempting to try and buy alcohol, i was just trying to save myself some time. The worker literally freaked out and asked to see my ID like as soon as i walked in. I was like wtf i seriously just want some cranberry juice. He refused to sell me anything and told me to gtfo of his store. We exchanged (swear) words lol and i went on my way. Anyway i feel like if im 19 and cant even walk into a liqour store how is an 18y/o working in one???

To answer your question, yes. I hate a majority if the people i work with and have to resist the urge to stab them in the throat on a daily basis. Its really hard too bc i work in a kitchen with ALOT of sharp knives. My boss is so dumb, she literally wil hire anyone. I cannot stand the smokers at my work who go out for cigarette breaks like at least 1-2times an hr. My boss smokes though so she doesnt consider a smoke break a break from work. Yet if she even sees me touching my phone at all except during actual mandated breaks she yells at me. Ive actual pictured in my head me stabbing her. It always ends happily, but i feel like in real life my happiness wouldnt last as long...

She does and then she tells me it ok. Yet if i slack off a little bit shes up my ass sideways.
Its ok, my stepdad instilled the principle of taking pride in your work, so i cant really do otherwise. Im really hoping once i finish school and get a real job someday with a boss thats actually intelligent ill be given the oppurtunity to show how hard i can work and be appreciated for it. If something isnt done to the best of my abilitie its so hard for me to just leave it. Idk how it doesnt bother other people to half-ass something. Being lazy just does not compute in my brain.

Ohhhh that explains the age thing lol.

And i have nothing against smoking, but just get your work done first. Also i hate how my boss makes exceptions just bc she smokes too. Maybe i should start lol

I would never advise anyone to start smoking. It is easier to stop at just one BP, than it is to quit smoking.

I work in the billing dept at a day center for people recovering from serious mental illness, so behavioral health.
My entire department at work frustrates me, including my boss. I'm the only one who actually bothers to get to work on time. I'm there by or before 7:30am every day. They all show up anywhere from 8:30 to 10 something or sometimes not at all. I also actually do my work while they watch YouTube videos and talk about clothes and generally act like words I'll get an infraction for writing here. My boss is probably outside smoking more than she's inside pretending to work.

Probably the most frustrating is that despite me having been in the department longest (1 1/2 years) except my boss, and my boss telling me numerous times that I'm her most reliable employee, my coworker who's been there 6 months is treated the exact same and now paid the same as me. This has a good bit to do with my boss and her being friends. Same coworker who's never even close to being on time and frequently doesn't show up.

I do love my job though. I'm paid well and its a cool place to work even if my department kind of sucks where the employees are concerned.

The guy who was coasting at my office got released for doing something an idiot would do. He got himself fired :D. Now I work with a guy who feels entitled because his pops works as a lead, and a guy who finds something to complain about ANYTHING. The other guy is chill - I'm actually the one who got him the job :D. Figures I put my name behind someone I feel will do a good job!

When I first had a run-in with lazy workers, I was informed about the 80/20 rule... 80% of the people work 20% of the time. Accept this, get over it, and just do your job to the best of your abilities.

I was joking about starting to smoke guys lol. But ive learned whenevr i feel like being lazy i just say, " alright time for a cigarette break". Or "ok i need a cigarette break" and someone will always come outside amd smoke why i sit down for a few. Its fun to manipulate nicotine addicts lol.

I work at a full service boat yard/fuel dock, and sitting with your thumb up your butt gets you canned around here. We hire on a lot of people once the weather starts warming up and we get busy, and around fall/winter there are a lot of layoffs (and some people just leave, very seasonal work place). Thankfully I'm useful enough to keep around year long, and I feel fortunate that 90% of the people I work with don't slack around, and they're entertaining to boot. However, there's one guy they've hired on this summer that I just can't STAND. He'll take extra time while running out for parts (up to an hour, though he cut that crap once the general manager made a comment on it) and he just won't stop complaining! No one likes doing the general chores he was hired to do, but.... he was hired for those little things, and knows it. The rest of us are trying to get boats in and out of this place. Due to boat really meaning bring on another thousand, we're trying to get things done and done correctly, and I really don't have time for his little sissy fits (I'd compare it to the whining my brother did when he was friggin 7 years old)
