Hey guys, i am looking to buy a new snake and in a previous thread you all discussed to me different types of bcc's and bci's and which was which and so on and so on. Well, i really love the beautiful look of the red tail but I don't want to start off with a true red tail because of the size so I have decided to go with a columbian red tail instead. Male or female, it doesn't matter to me. The question is, I want a good breeder because I have moved on from the pet shops as I had been using. (bad move). So if someone could guide me toward a good breeder that would be great...

none off the top of my head, but you shouldn't have any problem at all finding 1000 bci breeders.

Check classifieds on Kingsnake and Fauna, then check out any breeders on the Fauna Board of Inquiry. The folks there make it their business to report good and bad business dealings with reptile breeders and dealers, and you can start a thread of inquiry about a particular vendor (but must include your full real name in any posts to the BOI).

You can try Clay English. His website is: www.redtailboas.com I'm pretty sure he just made available a few baby BCI's that were born in August. Check him out. You can also try www.allboas.com

    Good luck on your search!

Here are some more links to check out. I've never done business with any personally, but have heard good/great things about all:

    BHB Enterprises

    Salmon Boa.com

    East Bay Vivarium

    The Boaphile

There are certainly MANY others out there. I'm sure you can find one near you.

Can you give EBV a 25% deposit on it? That would only be $62.50, and I'm sure they would do that, most big breeders and dealers do...

Just another suggestion in case you didn't know of the option. :)

Well, I had made up my mind that she was probably BCC, instead of BCI, but I guess it's possible she's BCI. BCI's are not normally over $100 or so, and some of her saddles suggest some BCC blood possibly.
I am NOT any kind of expert, though, and lots of people a lot more knowledgable than I have discussed the differences between the two ssp.
I know that you can find nice BCC's for $250, but who knows.....at any rate, she is a gorgeous snake.

You know Randy, the thought crossed my mind that she looked like a Guyana or something of the sort. But like you, I am NO expert. If they are selling her as a BCI, then she probably is. Just looks like she has some BCC blood in her. :)
