When we were sitting down eating dinner, my wife turned to me and said, "The next time you are in Blockbuster, if an employee tells you they are sorry about your mom, try to act sad. Your moms "untimely death" saved us $22 in late fees."

Talk about tacky!!!!! I would have saved the dead mom excuse for at least a $50 charge! Oh, well, that leaves us with her mom for the next set of late fees!

My wife is such a gem!!!

No, my wife is a cheapskate, and was 2 days late returning movies. She told the employee that the reason the movies were late, was because her mother in law had died the day the movies were due, and we had forgotten the movies while making funeral arrangements.

My mom is alive and well.

I don't think I'm going to tell my mom that the first excuse that came to my wife's mind was that she died!!!!! LOL

OMG that's great! I got out of paying late fees at Blockbuster once because I sweet-talked the clerk, but it bit me in the ass because the charges were back on the next time I went in. ;)

For the love of all that's decent and holy, pray that your wife doesn't see this article:

If she'll do something like that for $22, what would she do for the kind of money that guy got???
