I've been debating that issue all day. I'm stuck between the La Quinta, close to the venue, or the Crown Reef Resort, about 4 miles away, or the Hampton, about 5 miles away... arrrrgh :tricho:

Good thing we booked when we did - they're not accepting that code we reserved with now (I always check every few weeks to see if I can get a better rate - sometime it changes)

I'll be there!! At least on Sunday but hopefully both days. Last year was amazing and by the looks of it this year won't disappoint.

Where'd you decide to stay? Karl and I are driving in Thursday night, so that we can "play" on Friday - probably at Broadway at the Beach. Though - that's also a lot of fun to walk around at night too.

Hopefully it won't be TOO hot that weekend.

I will be at the La Quinta on 21st Avenue. I believe it is about 1 mile from the Convention Center. I will be heading down on Friday. Since I can't check in until 3:00pm, there is a place in Wilmington that I was thinking about stopping at and checking out on the way. It's called the Cape Fear Serpentarium. I can't believe that as long as I have been in this area, I had never heard of the place until a few weeks ago. It looks like a good way to start off a reptile expo weekend.

I'll be at the KOA campground.

I just wanted to bump this - three weeks until the show! Also - there will be an auction Saturday after the show and the proceeds will be going to the Sean Bradley fund to help pay for his medical expenses, and the auctioneer will be Limey - if you've never been to an auction by Limey - it's a must see. Just be careful not to fidget or scratch your nose, etc - or you may find yourself the winner of the auction! LOL

Good thing there's such event in your place guys.. I hope there's also such reptile expo events in my place :(.. Enjoy guys and have fun :)

I'm not quite sure where you are located but if you aren't more than 5-6 hours (or more of you like a car ride) away this is an awesome show to make it to. It's at least a 4 hour drive for me but worth every second. Also there are reptile expos all over the place.

IM gonna be there! Cant WAIT to see Keith McPeeks (The Blood Line) table!!!!!

Since I don't have any operations/training going on that weekend I think I may be going to this also. Especially since it's so close. Haven't decided on which day yet though, but hopefully I'll be able to see you guys down there too.

On July 4, Sean Bradley from Exotics by Nature was involved in an accident which has left him paralyzed from the waist down.
As a way to contribute, the Myrtle Beach Reptile Expo will be holding an auction to raise money for his medical fund.

Lucky dogs, you! Anyone know if there are shows in West Virginia or within a two hour driving distance? Although I wouldn't mind going to a show in Cincy because the day before I could hit up Kings Island. : D

Sad news, I had to replace my girlfriends fuel pump. So I won't be coming down to the show. Have fun and take pics for me!!

I just came back and for my first snake show it was pretty fun. I have a couple of new additions as well, which I'll post pics of in the picture section a little bit later. I don't know if I saw anybody from the forum, but you may have seen me. Tall black handsome young man probably holding my g/f's little girl the entire time...yup that was me lol.

Yep, there was at least 6 of us there that I met and talked to. Rabernet, Deborah, Fatboy, Annarose15, Denial, and myself. I was working at the USARK table. When you go to shows, don't just browse, introduce yourself. I usually ask people if they participate on forums. Trust me, we are all around you. You are not alone in your hobby... :D

Deborah took a lot of pictures, I'm sure she'll post some later on.

But the BEST news of the show, is the money raised for Sean Bradley in the auction. Limey texted me last night with the final figure. $26,240!!!!!

The auction lasted 4 hours, and we didn't even get everything auctioned off. There were a couple of very high dollar animals with reserves on them that were not met that Limey will be selling at retail and putting the proceeds into Sean's fund.

The other animals that we ran out of time auctioning on Saturday night were put up in a silent auction on Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who participated or donated to this amazing auction!

In regards to the show itself, I was disappointed. It seems there were less vendors there than last year and less people attending too. I was hoping for this show to get more popular.

There were around 190 visitors listed this year, although there were some no shows like BHB. How many vendors were there last year?
