    Fun Reptile Pets to watch?
I was just curious of what folks on here think are the most enjoyable reptiles to watch! Ones that are displayed and you can just sit back and watch them? I realize most all our little buddies are fun to watch as I do enjoy watching mine, but I'm curious if there is a somewhat common one out there!

Anything small and active so you can build them a natural terrarium and observe their behaviors. Green anoles and rough green snake are both great, active reptiles that do well in such a setup.

I have yet to find watching my BP attempt to escape his enclosure (a nightly occurance) boring. The body strength of snakes never ceases to amaze me. So I enjoy watching him try to lift an insane amount of his body of the ground, usually resulting in a water dish belly flop.

I love taking my baby bearded dragon out of his tank and let him run around my living room. Supervised of course. I love watching him climb onto the couch, and run around licking everything :P he's like "hmm, idk what this is, let's see if it tastes good" lol

Many small lizards like green anoles are super active! They can be housed in groups from what I've heard, so watching them interact with each other could be very interesting! Also, crested geckos are pretty fun, though I'm not sure about their activity level. Arboreal lizards in general should make fun display animals, especially if you're willing to pimp out their cage!

I'd have to say Uros, or Beardies, or Tortoises. :P

I don't remember exactly what they were called, but a friend of mine had sand skinks. They were extremely amusing. One second they are there, one second they aren't. I would watch them for long periods of time, completely baffled. The first time I saw the cage, I was sure it was empty. The second time, I thought there was 1. I concluded there were at least 5.

I would say green tree pythons. Watching my GTP hanging on his vein fascinates me. Also as they grow, they go through a color change. Neat right? Lol. =P

My DBT is amazing to watch, but top of my list are Argus monitors followed by Ackies. Nothing makes you watch a a cage like monitors! And then beardies and my DBT are a close 3rd.

    Caiman Lizards!

We collect ground snails from the farm every Sunday to feed the Caimans on Monday. Watching these guys and the snails during feeding is great! Over time 1 if not more snails often climb onto the backs of the Caimans and they will jump, roll, scratch and literally do tricks to try and get the snails, they get super excited! I could watch them swim for hours too, so graceful!

Here is a feeding picture I took this Monday or you can visit our Facebook Page, there are a few pics posted of the Caimans.

Carpet pythons are without a doubt my favorite to watch. Although my Hypo Brooks x Goini cross is very active as well.

Chameleons by far. Theyre quirky. And both ends of them have very unique crazy "appendages" (tongue and tail). That boxing glove tongue never gets old. Even their hands are fun to look at. The shape of them wierds me out. The eyes are always twisting different ways. Both eyes can twist 360 degrees and can move independant of each other. This many oddities on one animal is bound to make for a fun show

Lygodactylus williamsi (electric blue day geckos).

With a body language repertoire that includes head bobbing, head shaking, tail wagging, push-ups, lateral flattening, and more, on top of color changes, and the rare squeak, they are amazingly expressive reptiles. Their intelligence seems to be extraordinary as well. They're highly active.

Absolutely the best reptiles for watching, IMO. They'll make you laugh, and entertain you endlessly.

Bearded Dragons always seem to amuse me. Each has a different personality, and some are just crazy! Mine never had a boring moment. My nieces (three of them and all under the age of 7) loved my Bearded Dragon as well. :)

I have only worked with a limited number of species, but if I could put one of my animals in a nice display cage to watch, it would be my Gopher snake. He is very active, especially during the springtime, he goes nuts chasing invisible girls! ;)

Our beardie cracks me up when he is running down crickets, then you can hear him crunching on them. He is very inquisitive too, always watches you. Our uromastyx doesn't do anything but sleep any more, but he is older than dirt. He used to do funny stuff. The anoles aren't that exciting to watch either.
