Annnnd we're back....sorta

Well the goal was to get us to a new server, but I twerked something over there and we're waiting on tech support to resolve the issue. (myyyyy baaaaad)

Anyway, I decided to go ahead and run the upgrade here and re-open the forum so it's not down for an unnecessary amount of time.

Still lots of bugs I'm working on...broken images, uninstalled plugins, etc.

It'll all come back eventually - but feel free to make a note here on what you find so that I can investigate it....I don't always see everything!

Some notable changes...

Auto-Saved posts. Bout time, huh?
Re-working the default theme. Color scheme will remain the same but I'm tweaking a few elements to make it cleaner.
ForumRunner - similar to TapaTalk, but FR is pre-installed with vBulletin. (I DO plan on re-installing TapaTalk)
New Activity Stream. It's just awesome.

Looks good. You mentioned the broken images and I just found when I used the image tab to link a URL the image didn't show but if I used the image code from photobucket it worked fine. Hope that helps out.

Well, quick reply is the default. It's quicker (lol..hence the name "quick reply" :p ) - but if you want the full editor, it is still available if you click "Go Advanced"

I'm going to look at other settings and see what else we can do :)

Meh, I liked it better when the Go Advanced one was the default, and you manually chose quick reply from the thread. But that's just me. :P

Not sure if it goes along with broken images or not, but I've noticed that the images aren't resizing properly - posts where previously the forum would default them to a maximum size (with the option to click on the banner over the top of the image to take you to the full size), are stretching out the dimensions of the page.

Some avater photos on the 'activity stream' are also strangely sized, and the text from the activity stream is overlapping on top of the photos.

+ Reply to thread -> type in reply -> Post Quick Reply -> Alert message pops up asking if I really want to navigate away from page, and that all changes to editor will be lost (they weren't lost, but I could not post this without clicking OK to continue).

That's done with a plugin which I've yet to re-install...Will handle that shortly :gj:

Thanks for all of your hard work on the site. Is there a way to view the new threads like on the old forum? The new forum shows the newest responses, but it is harder to see what is new because it shows the preview of each individual response. I find it harder to sort through new responses, because the traffic is pretty impressive.

Never mind, I found the "New Post" feature that mimics the old site. Again, thanks for your work on the site. Y'all are great!

Everything looks nice but i do not like these new smiley faces. These pale yellow ones suck imo. Theyre very light so i cant really see them too well. I cant tell the difference betweens someone's smile and someone rolling their eyes at me...

Maybe its just me though, we all know im a bit special. :)

I agree with these two things. The quick reply doesn't give enough options imo and it's a pain to click go advanced every time - just one extra step to reply. And these new smilies are really hard to see. The old ones were much more expressive. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining - you've done a LOT of work here and you've done a super job! I like the activity stream - very cool. But these two items are really bugging me and apparently others are missing them too.

I also REALLY do not like the reply box - it's much too small. I like to see more than 3-4 lines of text at a time as I'm typing my replies. Any chance this could be made bigger???

I haven't logged in to regular website yet, but tapatalk looks ok so far. Other than on new/all/participated viewing, doesn't show a picture in peoples avatars. Thanks for all your work!

Meh, the only thing I don't like is that I can't just scroll to the bottom of the thread and type, I have to click "+ reply to thread" & my emotes aren't working. I'll get used to it, eventually.

Would be awesome if the site resized images for an avatar. I'm not very good with the whole image editing thing so I have given up on trying to make a new avatar.

Also noticed that tapa talk on my iPhone doesn't pull up post sometimes. It gives me an error message then doesn't pull up the post. Really annoying.

Yeah I noticed the Favicon - but the correct Favicon is there so it may take a bit for it to update itself.


Fixed the tables issue. Was a conflicting custom BB code that I did before vB integrated it into its core. Thanks for letting me know :gj:

Still debating that one. Our new server is fixed and I'm going to be moving the site soon. All the pictures that were uploaded prior to the site being shut down the other night are already moved over there.

Thanks for all your work on this. It looks good. I like this reply as the default better than the quick reply as well. I usually have a ton of typos and usually only catch them when I preview first.

So it was mentioned earlier that images weren't resizing properly, it seems to be working for me now. But when I click to enlarge an image it does so without opening a new page. It makes it kind of hard to see if the image is really big. Any chance of getting the old functionality back?

EDIT: I realized I can probably right click and open it in a new tab. So I guess it doesn't matter all that much.

So the site was down for me around noon, now all the icons in the reply box (posting an image, link, etc) are all black and every post has a top/bottom left/right scroll bar in it. Using Firefox.

Site seems sluggish now too.
