    Good bye BP.net
    Well

I tried to reach a hand out and offer my talent for FREE. And my wrist got slit. My thread about making people banners and avatar. Using my time for free got deleted and I got slapped with a warning and a zero point infraction.

SORRY FOR TRYING TO BE NICE.

For now I am leaving for a while. I couldnt believe this. You know a simple. PM saying. "Hey I am going to move your thread to the right spot instead of giving you this warning" Nope didnt happen.

    Thanks a lot.

Really? Got your wrist slit? Are you that sensitive?

We don't slap people with a Zero point warning. Your post was in clear violation of the TOS. You simply can't offer goods or services, even for free, outside the For Sale/Trade/Wanted Forum.

You've been a valuable contributor around here for the past several months...do you really want this post to be how you're remembered?

An infraction is not the end of the world (I have had my share over the years), it's just a course correction.

Leaving, is of course, your choice, but to get this upset over something so minor is a mite petty.

I would also urge you not to make back handed comments at the staff here...I can assure you that infraction is not a slap, but a full on hammer lock. Again, the choice is yours.

Would you quit driving if you a parking ticket for parking in the wrong spot? Do what you want, but it's not the end of the world.

You have offered your service for free and in the same offer you have offer services that were not and ask people to contact you via PM, this constitute advertising plain and simple.

Anytime some else does that they receive the exact same warning which is ZERO point or an infraction if they had a previous warning.

Now you chose to make a big deal out of a ZERO point warning when YOU breached one of our rules which I would like to remind you that you have agreed upon when registering that is your choice however most people would have used the proper channel if they had an issue with a infraction and would have make a private appeal, you apparently decided not to and decided to make this public.

This ZERO point warning was your reminder PM about our rules.:gj: , I cannot send you a PM like this

, if I was to do so I would than show favoritism, you would get away with a PM while everyone else you get a warning, now how fair would that be for other members? Should you be treated differently?

Rules are the same for everyone no one is above our rules we do not make exception for anyone.

And again it's a ZERO point warning.

Don't mean to add fuel to the fire, you broke the rules they gave you an infraction, life goes on. Don't leave because of something like this. You will not find another bp site like this where the people are so eager to help one another. Just my .02 cents.

Melodramatic much? It wasn't even an infraction, it was a zero point warning that no one even knew you received, until you threw this attention seeking temper tantrum of a 2 year old. Smh

When I first joined this site back in 2008 I also got a warning/infraction for posting in the wrong section about advertising. Did I let that stop me from staying on as a member, no. I can tell that in all fairness you deserved the warning. I used to be a moderator on here so I know how that works. Calling out the staff like this in a post is a tad inappropriate if you ask me. The staff here are fair and just in their decisions and they don't just target one person, the rules apply to all of us.

Warnings are not a big deal, just a heads up that you did something wrong. No reason to get upset. Just fix the problem. You make awesome stuff and you're great to talk to. :( Please don't leave over something like this. :tears:

This ^^^^^. Lots of people have infractions. Don't let that get to you. An infraction isn't worth leaving, imo. You do make some very cool banners, and have been very active on here!

I got one too bud! I took it as a reminder of the rules.

I posted something in my LOL thread and honestly didn't check it for foul language because I typically don't take offense to them.

Maybe you can make a we got a Zero point infraction banner for us rule breakers hehe.

Don't leave because of this. Just re post in the for sale/trade forum or take out the part about trying to sell services : )

    Allrighty,

Im gunna stop being a tool and say I am sorry. I had a really really bad morning. Got on the computer and saw that PM and it really was the cherry on top of an anger sundae.

So yes I am very much sorry. I wasnt thinking when I posted this like I said I had a very crappy morning and had no one to talk to about it and then I saw that PM.

Once again, I know it was very childish of me. I am really sorry.

Guys - let's not have a discussion about services, etc - this is exactly what earned the warning. The OP can place an ad in the appropriate forum and then can be contacted via PM. This is not the place to discuss services or banners you would like to have.

    Just to clarify.

If we are offering a favor for free. i.e. Making a banner or something of that sort like was done in the Cinny post. I thought that this was ok. It is, however, not ok to try to facilitate sales for any product or service.

    Is this not true?

Sorry, I wasn't intending to mean I would make such a banner. Just pondering the idea. Pondering is allowed right?

A favor, regardless of cost, is a service, and should be advertised in the correct Forum, or taken to PM immediately after the offer or service is discussed.

While technically the Cinny thread did cross some lines, we are not Nazi's here. The problem with the OP's thread is that it was only about a service being offered.

Ok, Thanks for clearing that up Mr. Slim. If random things pop up from time to time in random discussion that is "OK". But a post made specifically for a service regardless of cost is not allowed in the general forums. :colbert:

I have always wondered, since we have access to use that emoticon, are we allowed to use it at all? I feel if I did I would just be accused of swearing, unless mods can see what it filtered from.

Haha, I got yelled at for using the :cens0r: smiley once. I got a simple zero point warning telling me watch myself. I just bushed it off and try not to use that smiley so they don't think I tripped a censor. No big deal, really.

I remember I got a zero point warning for cussing. I had no idea that this forum was going to be moderated so well. Didn't think anyone would care. When I first read the message, I laughed to myself and thought "wow, no profanity?", and now I don't really cuss in person or in regular conversations.

    To the OP:

Glad you apologized. You seemed to be a really friendly person around here, and I was honestly shocked when I saw the immature-frustrated side of you coming through the forum. Keep your cool, breh :gj:.

    This actually bears explanation. :)

The censor smily is in the list because the auto-censor needs it to be there so it can use it. :P

The problem with members using it manually is we cannot see whether you did that or simply cursed - so we have to infract as though you cursed.

If you do want to use it make sure never to use more than two of them. This is because there are no two letter words we censor so it cannot be mistaken for either triggering the censor or trying to bypass it while elaving your intended word clear.

Basic rule - if we read it and can see what you meant as the curse you will get infracted for it.

I figured that was the case, I just didn't know if there was a way to hide if from us, but have it available to the filter. Makes sense though.
