what are your guys' fears/phobias? and why?
im afraid of hampsters. i think it all started when a hampster bit my nipple. i mention this in another forum but i mixed it in with another sotry. the real reason i got bit on the nipple was... well we used to let the hampster chill in our pocket with his head pokin out. i was a little kid...i had a pocket on my shirt and so i thought id let him chill in there. welkly ou know how rough little kids are, i put him in head first. he panicked and latched onto the nipple. i would have cried if i wasnt laughing so hard. i was strange. then he died and i wanted another. we went out and bought one and it latch onto my moms thumb. to the bone. we took it back and got another. latched onto my brothers finger. took it back. the end. now my other brother breeds them. i like gerbils...apparently they smell like dog food or somethin though:(
cats. my sister (not literally...but we grew up together since we were infants) has a cat. the most vicious thing you will ever see. it will come up and rub against you purring...try to pet it. i DARE you! i tried to pet it once. the doctor says i should still be able to reproduce...im not to sure. JK! haha but no if you try to touch it (even if it comes up to you) i lashes out. so im very cautious around all cats. my grandmas cats are ok though. usually.
windows. when your inside with the light on and its dark outside you cant see out of the window. the just freaks me out a little.
none of them are like run out of the room screamin like a ten year old girl...but oh well.
so what about you?? theres gotta be somethin!

i seriously can't think of anything i'm afraid of. not trying to sound "macho", i guess i'm just crazy.. or an idiot, one of the two... but nothing scares me, not even death itself.
-
btw, good post mike... this should be interesting.
-
I'm out of all seriousness terrified of stalkers. The scariest thing would be to open your eyes in the middle of the night and see like a "peeping tom" outside of your window. Ooooooh I'm given myself the creeps now. I won't go into huge detail; considering I really don't know why I am, but since you asked...
Oh yeah, and since we're on the subject, I'm sorry to say but I am really either grossed out or scared (I don't look at pictures long enough to tell) of tarantula's and other spiders. They just give me the heeby-jeebies. I don't want to sound all "girly" or something, but it's true, SO THERE!

My biggest fear would be being stuck underwater in a car. I don't know, always been a fear. I'm also afraid of hamsters... I had three and they all bit and were nasty. I guess I'm kind of afraid of bees too, but other than that not much bothers me.
-
There is only one thing that I am affraid of. Not death, but having one of my children die before I do.
Other than that, I can not think of any other thing that i am scared of.

Grizzly bears and tornados
-
grizzly bears...if i were gonna die young...thats how i want to go out. getting mauled by a grizzly. imagine the rush of being charged at by such a massive creature! ok im sounding a little too psycho...i have to sleep.
will...there gotta be something. how bout taking eggs from a 20ft.+ retic? haha
-
My biggest fear is not repenting of my sins & not giving my heart to the Lord in time, dying and getting send to hell for eternity by God. My second fear is heights and my third is getting old.
-
i don't consider that a fear mike, i'd do it... if i was getting paid 50 g's a show.

Mike, the only "rush" involved in being charged by a grizzly would be the rush of urine leaving your bladder and entering your pants!!!!
-
OK, this is interesting. Here's mine:
- something terrible happening to my kids. I can't get more specific because it would tempt fate.
- buildings/airplanes/etc. falling on me. I'm fine with falling on them, but not them falling on me. Hence, depths are a much bigger problem than heights.
- being buried alive, therefore my instructions to cremate me when they *think* I'm dead.
- not exactly a fear, but I hate certain bugs including roaches, big spiders (little ones are fine and can stay in the house to eat other bugs), and *especially* millipedes. Yuck!
- microscopic organisms. I'm not an obsessive-compulsive hand washer or anything, but if I somehow get to thinking about all the tiny critters all over me and everything I touch, I get a little freaked out. This one comes directly from the episode of "Northern Exposure" where Janine Turner's character was learning about Anthony Edwards' character's medical fragility and why he had to live in a sterile atmosphere and they showed photos of microorganisms and gave numbers on how many there are all over you and your pillowcase and everything.

Yeah, see, now that I think about it, all those things that Marla mentioned do drive me crazy. I just didn't want to get into detail. But since she did it for me...DITTO!

hey guys, i thought of something... i have a terrible fear of my family and friends dying.
-
Yup, that too.
Man I might as well go live in a hole.....
-
lol, jennifer the scaredy cat ;).
-
 It's not my fault!
-
LOL, Jennifer. We'd make a good team, eh?
-
Remind me never to go on a camping trip out in the middle of no where with you, Marla. LOL, we'd both get eaten alive by something... lol...
-
LOL ... probably. I have gone camping and fallen off a waterfall, but all in all, that wasn't as bad as hiking for days with very little clean water available. I think I'd have trouble camping anywhere big hairy spiders could be found just walking around, though! I definitely wouldn't get any sleep!

Like EVERYWHERE in arizona? I've walked outside and seen a tarantula. Bless their little souls, but MAN they are creepy...
-
OY! Nevermind that whole thought of reducing problems with allergies and such by moving to Arizona! The worst I see here are black widows, wolf spiders, and brown recluses. "Writing spiders" (garden spiders? orb spiders? you know, the ones with a big zigzag in the web) are fairly big, but they're pretty and not especially hairy and make really cool webs, so I don't have a problem with them.

Especially if all of a sudden you hear "Dueling Banjo's" playing off in the distance.....
-
LMAO!!! Thanks for the headsup.
-
Ha! That doesn't scare me. Rednecks, teeth or no, are not something I'm afraid to deal with. Where do you think I did my camping? I've been where Deliverance was filmed. As long as they're not going to fall on me or hurt my kids, I'm good to go. :-)

I am definetly not going to get into it, but if either of these things have happend to you you would understand my fear. Also anything ever happeniong to my neives, sister, son or husband. They are my entire family and I can't even think about it...
ON a lighter note:

man u people scare me sometimes
-
lol, rusty scared isn't the word for it. it's beyond fear, so i didn't think to list it. ;)
-
I dont have any fears. hieghts make me uncomfortbly buts thats it. i've tried to find somthing i fear but it doesnt happen. like wizill said
"im not trying to sound "Macho"", but its true i have no fear. Not yet any way.
-
That last post is mine. sorry. i didnt know i wasnt loged in.
-
I'd have to say being eaten alive by some sort of predator.
My second phobia would be of wasps. There's just something about that buzzing sound around you & you can't see it coming. And then them charging you with their stinger for no apparent reason except for you being alive & near them. Or God forbid they land on my back or something. I'd probably scream like a little girl.
I once had a friend tell me there was something wrong with me because I can handle big hairy spiders but a bee will get me running and swatting at the empty air and shivering like a little scared kid.
I'll take spiders & snakes over wasps/bees hands down anytime, anywhere.
-
rofl...that is funny. i never woulda thought that you keep all these arachnids (which most people are scared/petrified of) and are "scream like a little girl" scared of wasps and bees. im kinda scared of bees and wasps. mainly because ive never been stung. if one comes around me i pretend i dont care. a bee was buzzing around me and my firneds the other day and one of my friends screamed "oh my gosh im afraid of bees!!". then the bee decided to hover right in front of his face (he was covering his eyes so he didnt know). i was laughing my head off because the bee chose him instead of any of the rest of us. lol.

Never stung? Wow!! Didnt know that was possible not to be stung in your life.
Just dont ever mow the yard with loose shorts on and cross over a hornets underground nest. @%$#^ &%#@ &#$ does that hurt. The stings werent what hurt the most, swinging at them between my legs hurt the most. I was stung 17 times and swollen for over a week. It wasnt funny then, but looking back it is funny as heck.

I doubt it. im not affraid of any one or thing. also ive never been stung by anything that stings exept if misquitos count. i hate misqiutos. stupid blood suckers.
-
I guess my fear of wasps/bees started when I was about 6 or 7 and a wasp stung me on my eyebyall.
That hurt. And because I was so young , it seemed to hurt more than anything else had ever hurt anyone in the world at anytime in history.
Or so it seemed at the time.

very well put Marcus, that must have been awfull, when I was a kid I was playing in the woods and I ducked down (we were playing hide and seek or something) I sat right down on a mud wasps nest, that wasn't fun, I think I was stung around 30 or sio times, i had to go to the doctor for something for the swelling.
that was rough

i steped ona bee in the grass this yer first time i got stung it didn;t hurt till i saw what was o nthe bottom of my foot...couldn't get the stinger out and every time i took a step for 2 weeks i could feel something in the bottom of my foot
-
The first time I ever got stung by a bee (when I was like 7) was on the bottom of my foot. Just like you said, I didn't feel it till I saw what it was then I screamed, lol... I don't think it really hurt, I was more shocked than anything.

I agree. I get scratches and cuts all the time but i never feel it intill i see the blood. but its not like a big shock unless its a big cut. it surprises me somtimes when i see a big scratch that i didnt feel when i got it. and 98% of the time i dont know where i go it.
