    Your Feeding Schedules?
Just curious on peoples feeding ways..

    How often do you feed?
How often do you feed a certain weight

(for example under 700 grams feed every 5days)

    Just doing a curious thread,
    Thanks Alot!

Once a week feeding. They day tends to shift/change when snakes are in shed. Like I was feeding every Wednesday, but 5 out of 7 are in shed. So I fed the 2, a 10% size meal instead of 15%, because they other guys will be done and ready to eat probably around Saturday or Sunday. So I will feed everybody then, and that will be my feed day until the next shed. My boa is an exception here, he is blue, and ate anyhow. So he will be off schedule from everyone else until I can work him back. He won't get fed again until next Wednesday.

My feeding schedule is based on my animals and what work for each individual.

Hatchlings can be fed every 4 to 5 days until I see their metabolism slow down which vary for each individual than it's a every 7 days schedule.

Adult males are fed every 7 days a prey no bigger than a small rat 55/65 grams

Females are fed every 7 days a prey no larger than a medium rat 125/150 grams however prior to breeding season they are fed more heavily (every 5 days for those that will accept it)

Every other month I skip a week of feeding.

This allows me to have animals that eat with consistency aside from the normal fast that occur during breeding season.

how do you know when their metabolism will slow?

Everybody gets fed every 7-10 days. Theyll let me know when they wanna eat. I rarely weigh the rats to make sure theyre 10-15%. By now i kinda just know by eyeballing it.

Hehe, yeah I eyeball too. So say a smaller weanling, rather than a larger one. I posted percentages for an idea to base off of.

For my snakes under 700g I keep em on a 5-6 day feeding basis. Anything bigger eats every 7 days. :gj:

I offer all of my ball pythons food weekly on Wednesday evening, which is always my night off of work. I rarely weigh snakes and never weigh their food. Eyeballing for appropriate food size seems to work just fine.

I feed every body on every Monday. If someone refuses to eat, I comfort them by letting them know another Monday is just around the corner ;)

When I have juveniles in my racks, I feed them every 5 to 6 days until they hit about 500 grams.

I only keep males so I don't get all crazy about growing them out as fast as I can...

Everyone gets fed on Wednesday with an appropriate size rat. Everyone who doesn't eat forfeits their rat to one of the garbage disposal snakes (generally my pastel female or snow female).

Once their get bigger, are not as aggressive with feeding and start skipping meals is when I start adjusting their feeding schedule to every 7 days.

They obviously don't need/want as much food anymore hence the adjustment.

Be in tune with your BP and he will let you know ;)

You will be perfectly be fine feeding your BP every 7 days since he is a pet.

My ball pythons eat every 7 days. My boas eat every 10 to keep them from becoming little chubsters. lol. Also, because my BCI is a little slow to digest. So I don't want to overload her system. :gj:
