Hey guys...I know a lot of you don't know me very well.... but... me and my wife are both in the united states army. We joined about a year ago and got serparated to different training locations... WELL. after she graduated with training she got deployed to Iraq. So i haven't seen her in about a year....SO I heard from her yesterday and found out they are coming home next month on the 18th of february!!!! And the best thing is they will be out of Iraq and into kuwait this weekend. (too bad they have to go in a convoy). But, f you could..please keep her in your thoughts and prayers..it would be much appreciated!!
This is her in a video conference from Iraq:

I kind of know what you are gong threw man. My cousin is currently over there. He has been there since April and is suppose to be coming home at the end of March. He does escort convoys from time to time. But I am not sure what he is doing this weekend though. I will add her to my prayers along with my cousin. Glad to hear that she is coming home man.

Thanks, freakoverdose. I hope he will be okay. He's been attached to a medical unit (as an nbc officer), so at least he won't be doing roadblock duty or anything like that. I offered his CO my ex-husband instead, but apparently that wasn't an acceptable trade.

She's in my prayers, as are the rest of my brothers and sisters who are over there and otherwhere in teh world.
I'm standing by to hear back from a review board about me re-enlisting. I served in the CG after graduating HS and was honorably discharged for having ADD (not a factor in my life/service but they wanted a way to get rid of people so they used ADD/ADHD). But the army is going to change my code if all goes well and I'll be re-enlisted. Already have paperwork drawn up, I retook my ASVAB, and all I'm waiting on is my RE code to change and off I go. Unlike most people I seem to talk to, I do wanna go to Iraq. I wouldn't feel right anywhere else, I've got so many close friends over there but not only that. I believe in our freedom so much and protecting my family/friends/fellow americans here at home that if I have to give my life for them I will.
I come from a long line of Military blood, so I guess this patriotism was in my gene's. And I'm in no way shape or form complaining.
Again, good luck, and best wishes.

Chris, my brother volunteered, too. I'm proud of him for that, but there are also some very good reasons why I wish he weren't, mostly personal. Good luck to you, whatever your results are.

That's great to hear she's coming home. Man, a year is a long time; I don't think I could do it :( They are definately in my thoughts.

im happy to hear that shes coming home safe.
i support the military completely but i dont support bush at all. im not sure if ive only heard the bad side or something but all of this doesnt make sence to me. after 9/11 we were trying to stop terrorism and get osama bin ladin but then all of a sudden we just jumped over to iraq and started chasing the "weapons of mass destruction" and saddam. i heard from my history teacher that with the money we are wasting in iraq we could afford to pay for every senior in high school to go to college. if bush was to use our tax dollars wisely then we could do so much good for the economy. our soldiers are dieing in iraq just because bush was doing his dads dirty work. i just dont see any good side to all of this. im only 15 and dont know too much about politics government and economy yet but i know enough that there is more bad to this whole thing tan good.

Fears....
the chasing of weapons and mass descrution has been going on long before 9/11.
