Just for fun, what's everyone's favorite movie??
For me- Heartbreak Ridge, Top Gun, The Wizard of Oz, Shrek, and I don't know why, because I don't like football, but Remember the Titans. Those are just a few of the many.

All time favorite is The 'Burbs but i bet no one has ever seen it lol. Ive watched it wayyy too many times haha.
x2 to Leah, Step Brothers is really funny, i like most Will Ferrell movies. My stepdad collects comics so he loves all of those superhero movies. The Dark Knight, Iron Man 1 & 2, and the newest Hulk movies were good imo.
Shooter was a cool movie. All the Resident Evil and Lord of the Rings movies were cool. I like Star Wars too though im not much of a fanboy. Ive liked all of Rob Zombies movies. (Kinda effed up, yes i know lol). I also like alot of Horror/Thriller movies, too many to list. The Hitcher is a good one that comes to mid though. I woke up early before work yesterday bc i just couldnt sleep and watched part of that movie Colombiana, it seems like a pretty sweet movie that id like, but i havent seen all of it yet.

I still love that famous quote at the end of Tora Tora Tora.
"I fear that all we have done, is to awaken a sleeping giant, and fill it with a terrible resolve."... Admiral Yamamoto.

Oh yeah, Gran Torino too, that was great! I love most anything Clint Eastwood. Run Forrest, Run! That was a good one too. While we are on Tom Hanks, how about The Green Mile. Ooh, and The Shawshank Redemption too.

Those seem like they'd all be right up your alley!

Hmmm I mostly love horror, especially stuff with zombies or really gory.
The Prestige was actually my favorite movie ever. Any Christopher Nolan film: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Memento, Inception. IMO he is possibly the best director ever.
In no order:
Fight Club.
The Boondock Saints (first one only.)
Dawn of the Dead (the remake.)
ALL of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. movies.
Plague Dogs, if only because it's the most depressing movie EVER.
Mr. Brooks. LOVE this movie. Is also the only movie I've liked Dane Cook in.
Hell Boy.
"Crank" was awesome.
House of 1000 Corpses. Also loved Rob Zombie's Halloween remake but was not fond of either of the sequels.
The Grindhouse double feature: Planet Terror/ Death Proof.
Like a lot of Quentin Tarantino movies a lot.
A recent movie I actually really liked that was not remotely my usual style was The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Gaahoole or whatever. I liked it because it actually reminded me of cartoons in the past when everything wasn't all rainbows and sunshine like Land Before Time, All Dogs Go To Heaven The Secret Of Nim, and Watership Down -which are my favorite cartoon movies. Plus the animation was SICK in 3d lol.
Breakfast On Pluto.
28 Days Later. Badass zombie movie.
Zombieland.
The Cabin in the Woods (2012.)
Feast.
The Hills Have Eyes.
Hard Candy. A [i]great [I] movie.
Pet Cemetery 1& 2.
Repo Men.
Sin City.
Trainspotting.
Loved the most recent "Predators" movie.
Jurassic Park because I mean c'mon.
Shoot 'Em Up.
Lucky Number Slevin.
Blade 3 solely because of how damn hot Ryan Reynolds is in it lmao.
Quarantine.
Lol wow...listed more than I meant to:o

I like:
Hamlet
Man On Fire
Boondock Saints
ANYTHING with John Wayne (Fort Apache, Chisum, Hatari, etc.)
V For Vendetta
Pride And Glory
The Grey
The Punisher
Cool Hand Luke
The Color of Money
I don't really have a "type", necessarily. Some of the crap coming out of Hollywood these days...I seriously wonder how it gets produced!
-
Re: What's your favorite movie?
Jaws , King Kong (1933) , Cinderella Man (Best sports movie ever!)
The exorcist , Platoon and last but not least The God Father 1&2
-
Re: What's your favorite movie?
Hmmm, The Princess Bride, Labrynth, Legend, Idiocracy, Snatch, Dune, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.........and a lot more ties for favorite.
-
Oh my gosh, what a tough question! Definitely can't limit that to one.
NO particular order:
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Cleopatra (1963)
To Kill A Mockingbird (1962)
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002)
The Lion King (1994)
The Breakfast Club (1985)
The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Footloose (1984)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
Silence of the Lambs (1991)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Spirited Away (2001)
The Great Gatsby (1974, and hoping the 2012 version is good too)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
V for Vendetta (2005)
And of course, there's one more, but I'm afraid that I'm not allowed to talk about it (hint; made in 1999).
I've been turning into a movie nut over the past few months. :D
-

Um well duh, it's a Christopher Nolan.
WHAT?!!!!! OMG! So need to see this.

I'm a Johnny Depp fan so most of his movies are great, and I really like Will Ferrell as well.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke
Anchor Man
Step Brothers
Absolutely anything Tim Burton and Johnny Depp did together
The Secret Window
Half Baked
Sling Blade
Green Mile
Harold and Kumar (only the first 2)
Steven Spielberg war films, Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List
If I had to pick only one movie that I had to watch for the rest of my life it would probably be one of the last 2.
-
How could I forget these
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Predator
Anchor Man
Step Brothers
Warrior - great movie
Inception
Avengers - finally got the Hulk right
Reservoir Dogs
Saving Private Ryan
Fight Club
Se7en
Braveheart
Gladiator
And some kids movies
The Lion King
Finding Nemo
How To Train Your Dragon
-
Ooh good question! :gj:
My favourite movies are: Sense and Sensibility (the Emma Thompson one.. even though it's got a completely different tone in the book), Waitress, Lord of the Rings and Cinderella Story :) I love every fantasy adventure, so the Narnia and Discworld movies are in there somewhere too.
-
Last night I saw Donnie Darko (2001) for the first time. Needless to say I have another new favorite. :gj:

Pi the movie is also a very good but trippy

To be on my favorites, it has to be something that I can watch over and over and get enjoyment from. There are some movies that I think are really good but I can't stomach to watch repeatedly because they are so long. Most Batman movies come to mind.
In no particular order:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Kung Pow
The Beastmaster
Conan the Destroyer
Red Sonya
All 3 LOTR movies
The original SW trilogy in the original format
Star Trek 1, 2 and 4
The Princess Bride
The Matrix
Transformers the Move (the real one from 1986, not that CGI mess)
The Last Starfighter
Highlander (the first on only; I pretend all the sequels never happened)
The Avengers
Feris Bueller's Day Off
Flight of the Navigator
As a side note, I can't stand some of the "great movies."
For example "Gone with the Wind" bores me to tears. I have no idea why that keeps showing up as number 1.
-
There are too many to list, Grant and I are serious film lovers. Gotta say these are a few films I can never get sick of:
STAR WARS YES PLEASE AND THANKYOU
Lord of the rings (all)
Transformers (all)
Pirates of the Caribbean (all)
High Society
Seven brides for seven brothers
Titanic
The ringer
These are just a few :) Anything with Johnny Depp, Jason Statham, Nicholas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Colin Farrell, and Scarlett Johannsons AWESOME BUM will do me JUST FINE.
-
Re: What's your favorite movie?
For me my favorites are movies that I can watch over and over and get that same fuzzy feeling every time I watch them, so it's a short list.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954)
Father Goose (1964)
Man From Snowy River (1982)

Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (2001,2002,2003)
Chronicles Of Narnia-The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe (2005)/Prince Caspian (2008)

-
