The single most anticipated clutch of my career and my life!
This is hands down the single most anticipated clutch of ball pythons eggs I will ever have.

    The backstory:

Back in the early '90's, the first piebald ball python was imported into the United States. It was featured on the cover of Reptile's magazine. At that time, I worked for Fancy Publications, the people who printed Reptile's.

I was completely captivated by the animal. I swore that one day, no matter what, I would have one of those beautiful creatures. Of course back then the price tag was in the neighborhood of 20K plus.

Fast forward to 2008. I started shopping around for a pied. They were no longer 20K, but they were still too expensive for me. So my darling hubby decides if I can't buy one outright, I can breed for one. So he contacts a breeder and orders a het pied pair for me. Nago the male, and Toki the female.

Toki did well for the first year, she ate very well and grew like a weed. Then she hit the "1000" gram wall. She went off feed for 8 months. In the meantime I started collecting other snakes, including another het pied female and eventually a low white pied male.

Slowly Toki came around, and little by little she gained weight again. This season she finally started breeding for me. Of course, I paired her to my visual pied in hopes of producing a visual pied of my own. There is something to be said for making your dream snake, even if you could buy it.

Tonight my dream has come true, and my beautiful Toki gave me 4 lovely eggs.

Here's hoping I get my 50/50 perfect pied!

Yeah, that is totally how I felt about pieds the first time I saw them. And that is totally how I felt when my het lavender albino laid her first clutch last year....

Best of luck! Hope you get the world's most amazing pied in there.

I'm with you! I started with Pieds and saved up and bought two females in 2007. In 2008 purchased a male. They did not take last year. The male did sire a clutch with a Lesser and I held back two females.

This year, I've got a het pied (that was given to me as a male but turned out to be female) laid ten eggs and a pied who laid seven eggs. Our other pied female looks like she is going to lay in a week or so. To top it all off, the first clutch of Pieds is due to pip on my birthday! I'm patiently waiting until then.

Hope you hit the odds big time and that your four eggs come out all pieds! I know how long I've waited to produce them and am very excited too. Here is a pic of my female that gave me seven that are due to pip on my birthday:

Huge congrats! It sounds like you've been waiting a long time. You deserve to hatch out your dream snake I wish you much luck. I'm waiting as well for my most anticipated clutch of the year from a het pied X het pied. I've got a little worse odds than you but I have my fingers crossed. I'll know in a couple weeks. Here's to pieds. :salute:

Thank you everyone for sharing my joy. Only here can I tell my goals and dreams to people who not only understand, but celebrate as well.

I tell you, last night I was so happy I was crying. I never caught her ovy, and had just about given up hope. She is still small, right at 1600 before laying, so I knew there was a real chance she wouldn't take. I sobbed and sobbed the whole time I was cleaning her up and I laid her on my shoulder and just cried while hubby finished up her tub. I swear she knew how much it meant to me, because she just laid her head on my shoulder and kind of squeezed me a little, for all the world like she was trying to hug me.

And something else interesting. All five of my other girls really pitched a fit after I took their eggs. Pacing around the tub, really restless for a day or two. Not Toki. She came to the front of her tub once last night after I pulled her eggs and looked at me. I cracked open her tub and stroked her a little, and told her thank you for her gift. She went right back to her hide, and that is where she still is. Quiet as a mouse. Or in this case, quiet as a snake. :D
