    New GTP enclosure build
So I can't stand plain vivs so I wanted something with a decent look to it.
Built a basic 3x2h viv and fitted a nice large vent. Then blasted a load of expanding foam inside it.
Spread that around using spatula (stops it expanding too much and looks more rocky when cured) and on top of that pasted a thick layer of cement over the top.
2nd layer of cement also mixed in some brown acrylic paint to give it some life.
Few more sealing layers and will be done
    Updates to follow.

Next step, coat the entire thing in black acrylic paint.
This is not only to create a better 3D look, but is to seal the layers underneath.

Then the colours can be applied, again in acrylics its best to layer these darker colours first and heavily drybrushed on, then lighter colours dry brushed lighter so it covers less area.http://img.tapatalk.com/5606c025-04b4-9ff2.jpg

Very nice! I love the colors and the "logs" look awesome :gj: I also can't wait to see it all finished! Just wondering where you got the vent from? Just any old hardware store?

Yep any old hardware store vent, ones with fly screen mesh behind the slits are better imo.
I got mine from b&q but I'm the other side of the pond so I don't know the US equivalent.

    Bit of an update.
Next fit glass doors and start putting in the rear walls fake foliage

Then fit in branches using either screws for fixed perches or double hooks for easy removal.

    Then start fixing the heating
Once that's in start putting in place all your main foliage.

Then more plants and leave to run for few hours with loads if thermometers placed all over the viv.
Then let your pride and joy explore her new home.

Sweet setup. I'm planning to make a custom setup in my hallway, building into the back of the bathroom closet it will have a window into see him from the hallway, might frame it like a picture even.

I'll definitely have to experiment with the 3d background you made.

Looks professionally done. Fantastic work. Gives me ideas for refurbishing my old 55 gallon.

How did you do the logs?

The logs on the back wall are stripped bark off a tree, left in a disinfectant bath over night then dried for 2 hours in oven on low heat. The climbing branches, same solution but dried in sun for 2 days as well as a little spray with a mite spray.
