    Breeding plans help
I need some help, with my breeding plans. I have 1.0 black pastel het albino, 0.1 albino and 0.1 pastel lesser right now. i plan to add a 1.0 killer bee and 0.1 firefly. I also want to add a pinstripe combo, I found a 100% het albino pinstripe female for sale. Im thinking about picking her up. what do you guys think? in the future i want to produce queen bee(/killer queens) dragon flies, and some other combos later after i add a few more snakes into the collection(aka mystic, enchi etc). Im just wondering if you guys think getting the pin het albino is a good move(still getting a 2 gene snake)or should i just wait and look at any other pin combos(any suggestions are welcomed). the only reason i thought about the pin het albino is because it could work into my black pastel project(if i hit on a black pastel albino male) and will also work into my dragonfly project.
    Thanks for the help

Is the het albino pinstripe a pinstripe that is het albino or a normal looking snake that is being sold as both het albino and het pinstripe? If it is a normal-looking snake, I would not get it.

black pastel het albino x pinstripe het albino -->
3/16 normal (66% probability het albino)
    1/16 albino
3/16 pinstripe (66% probability het albino)
    1/16 pinstripe albino
3/16 black pastel (66% probability het albino)
1/16 black pastel albino (looks the same as albino???)
3/16 black pastel pinstripe (66% probability het albino)
1/16 black pastel pinstripe albino (looks like pinstripe albino???)
Fractions are the probability of a given outcome for a single baby, not a clutch.

If that outcome fits your breeding plans, go for it. This assumes the female is healthy, of course.

the female is a pinstripe het albino. Lori from bhp just emailed me back, the female is 165 grams. a pinstripe works into my breeding plans because it is need to help me get a dragonfly, and kingpins:D. Heres the female let me know what you think? She's for sale for $650, seems like a good price.

I think if you like the combos and the potential she brings to your breeding plans than you should get her. Personally I love pinstripe combos and albino pins are sweet. She is a pretty girl. BHB has great animals so you wont be disappointed anyway.

If you like the snake and she fits into your breeding plans, get her. At only 165, you have PLENTY of time to figure out what you really want to do with her.

FWIW, I didn't see albino in your list of desired future projects at all.

Well there is always a possibility of creating a black pastel albino from a BPhet albino to Pinstripe het albino, although it is small. But like RobNJ said you have plenty of time to decide what you want to do with her.

rob as of right now my albino project is my male black pastel het albino to my female albino. I wanted to pick up a pinstripe to work into with my dragonfly project(after i get a killer bee and firefly), but i found the pin het albino. which would also be able to work into my dragonfly and add more snakes to what could turn into a bigger albino projects. Theres something about albinos that i just love even know most people don't like them.

I think she would work well into your plans. And when you work her into you non-albino projects any offspring you sell can be labeled as poss. het. albino. Proving out poss. hets are always a bit exciting and will give you a little icing to put on top of the cake.

Also albino pins are really sweet looking since i like binos with more yellow instead of more white. :gj:

No such thing as Het Pinstripe.

To the OP....I personally love Albino Pins (as well as most other albino combos)...so if it was me I would snatch her up!

thanks everyone i emailed lori back to see if i would be able to put her on hold and pick her up at the white plains show in july, since i work everyday except sun and monday:(. anyone know if BHB does "holds" on animals? Whats the deposit %? i assume if they do 10-15% would be fair(non refundable).
plus i showed the gf a pinstripe and she said they are ugly, then show her the pinstripe female i want and she said wow she's pretty i like the yellow/light brown(compared to the dark brown pins).
    Thanks for the help guys

I dont believe they do holds but if you call you may be able to arrange something but I would assume you would have to pay in full...

Ok thanks Andy, I have no problem paying the full price right now, I just know I have no days off until after the whiteplains show(everyone's vacation days are starting and I'm working a lot more hours aka more snake spending money:D)

One thing to keep in mind would be to invest in females right now and wait on purchasing males until about six months before your females are ready to go (weight wise). Your females are, I presume, probably in the juvenile/hatchling range, and they won't be ready to breed for two years. If you pick up males now, you would be paying more for the morph as well as for his food and maintenance than if you paid for your male six months before your females are ready to go. Males get cheaper as the years go by due to supply and demand.

Slash, yeah I'm getting my females first, my albino girl is over 600 grams, and my pastel lesser is over 350 grams. So I still have some time to go before breeding is a option, I don't plan to breed till 2013/2014 :( by then all the females I get should be breeding size.
