How big was the biggest BP you have seen or owned? Pictures would be awesome if you have them!

I have a 57" long male who weighs 1957 grams empty he is as big around as my forearm almost and I'm a 28 yo who is 6'0" tall and weigh 223 lbs

My biggest girls are 5'3" and 5'10" respectively. The longer female weighed in at 3800 grams before she laid her 12 egg clutch. The clutch weighed 1300 grams.
The shorter girl is around 3400 grams. She is a fabled Ghana Giant, and if my dream comes true, she may hit as much as 8' and 8,000 grams. This is the bigger female.

Unfortunately no, I got her from a breeder who was thinning some of his breeder girls and she was one of them. I doubt she's a Ghana, I think she's just a husky girl :P It will be interesting to see how much more she grows though, she's just needs to decide to eat again (been fasting for a few months now).

If she reaches 8' and 8000g let me know cuz I want one of her babies!
My biggest girl right now is about 3000g and shes also the sweetest of my ladies. I love fat snakes and they love me back!

Just out of curiousity, what is the difference between a Ghana ball and a regular ball? Ghana's get bigger? I've always wondered. :P

I have a 20 year old, 50" female that is about 3600 grams. I got her as a little girl, and have had her that entire time - she's a big'n!

The Ghana Giants or Sub-Sahara's as they are sometimes called are a subspecies of ball python that are very localized and yes they can get huge.
I have never seen one at 8,000 grams, but I have heard reports of them that size. I believe that the NERD girl is probably a Ghana Giant, most likely one of the first.
I sincerely hope one day she'll reach that size. It will be interesting to see how large her offspring get. I have heard that people who own them and have bred them consider any hatchling that is over 100 grams from the egg are considered Ghana's.

So when a Ghana is bred to different morphs like spider for instance will they be ghana spider balls? Or will it only be the normal looking babies that are over 100 grams? I am gonna have to do some research cause this is entirely new to me, but for real hit me up when she has babies! ;)

It's likely not a single gene trait, but a combination of them, that makes them larger animals. If you breed them to large 'typical' ball pythons, the babies will probably run the range in between the two, in size--theoretically, anyhow. So, if you want to keep large size, you have to keep selecting holdbacks for large size.
I'd like to have one, as well.

10 to 12 egg clutches. Like many big girls, she doesn't produce every year, which is a bit sad...but she makes up for it by producing almost twice as many eggs as a typical ball python, when she does lay. She is very shy, and 'runs' whenever we open the bin. She has never struck, but her fearfulness has always made me a bit nervous, as the bite would be astounding, lol.
Istustaya also produces up to 12 eggs.

Sweet I looked through the whole thing and only the mention of Brian Gundys girl is just slightly bigger than mine. My girl Abby is 4911 grams on empty as of this morning I love this girl and yeah her head is HUGE let's see if anyone on site has bigger lol.

Wow- incredible snakes!! What is the "average" again- you guys are scaring me!! :) I know length is 3-4'- females larger- but forget average wts. for "normal" BP's?
