Not so dull!
So I took pics of my BCI and albino yesterday and the BCI didn't look his best. Well he shed out this morning and looks darn good if you ask me, so I had to show him some love!

He is very nice, love his tail! My little booger hasn't shed with us yet. Are they as noticeable as the balls when going into shed?

Wow that's a while with out a shed right? How long have you had it now? And so far no it's not as noticeable, I'll notice he will dull out but that could also be mistaken as dark phase. Also the eyes gloss over, not as noticeable as my bps but they still do.

I like him. Are you gunna breed them someday?

Maybe maybe not. They are a long ways from breeding size! Could be fun tho, especially not having to deal with eggs.

Re: Not so dull!
not sure if its the same but my hog island boa gets very dark before he goes into shed its almost a reddish haze he has so I call it his red phase its crazy he looks so cool during shed and he looks awesome after shed when he gets super light! I think I have one of the cleanest Hogs around so I am very proud of him. But I think its a bit different from when my balls go into shed because they get like a ghostly look and they get really dark. My biggest girl almost looks like black axanthic when shes in shed! Im not sure how it is for the big mainland BCIs though... :)

Oh yea i know, i was just curious. Does that mean youre not gunna breed your bps either because you dont wanna deal with eggs? I was hoping you would since your so close to me i could buy some from ya haha!
EDIT: So close to me, location wise that is. Haha i wrote that kinda awkwardly...

Awkward......lol nah I'm kidding. But yeah still plan on breeding bps, just nice to know I don't have to worry about eggs with my boas.

I have to check my book, but getting close to two months, or right at two months. I thought he looked kinda faded one day, but eyes never clouded so maybe just color fluctuations? These guys do that don't they?

Yup they go go to the cool side and get all dark then when on the warm side they are nice and light. My guy has shed three times already and I think we got them around the same time. How's his growth?

He's growing good. I think you had yours for awhile before I got my guy. I also feed on a 7 day shedule for him. A lot of the boa people seem to really recommend that. I had a post too with what he had gained in a month, and Evenstar (who seems to be a boa expert) said he was fine. He was only a couple weeks old when we got him, itty bitty guy. He was 50 grams when I brought him home. I'm guessing its coming any day.

Good deal, I'm sure he will shed soon then! Yeah I went over to a seven day schedule as well and all seems to be going well. :)

Got him on the scale. 75 whopping grams. Had him for two months today. So he's just a pokey grower.

I was gonna say...he's probably just a slow grower. My girl sheds once every two months roughly. She's a little slow on digestion, so I switched her to a 10 day schedule since she was not having regular BMs. But that seemed to help alot, switching to 10 days. :) I thought she was growing really slowly..but she's gained over 200 grams in about 3 months...give or take. lol.
