    She laied!!!!!
So I wasn't 100% confident that my Normal female was gravid but as I'm getting ready this morning I figured I'd take a look.I usually check on her every morning and there she was, laying on her eggs!!!! I'm super excited right now but had to rush to work so I'm taking a break once the other guys get here to get them in the incubator!!!

God I'm stoked. Alright have a great day guys.

Depends on what the dad was. If he was a white diamond, you would get all russo het lucys. If he was a mojave/lesser, then you would get mojaves and lessers. Need to get more information.

Yes and just because you said that, I'm going to reveal the secret to finding pictures of any morph.... http://tinyurl.com/c962fr7

Between my brother and I, we got it done. Glad it helps.

If it was bred by a White Diamond, you will only get het Russo's. They look pretty normal except can make BEL when paired with another morph in the BEL complex. You will NOT get any Mojo's, Butter's, or Lesser's unless the dad carried one of those genes.

You should probably ask the guy you got her from. You don't wanna hatch what you think are het Russo's, when in reality they are normals, and end up selling them as het's.

Here are some Russos I produced.. Great examples. They have a lot of circles, flames, alien heads, keyholes, faint head stamp, clean belly, and after the first shed the colors really pop. They look nothing like a normal in comparison shots. Yellow on top and orange along the sides.

And comparison shots with normals. Once you learn to identify them you can never mistake them for anything else. This way if you keep any of yours to breed to other things and get normals, you'll know what's what.

Unless you are a Russo expert, those het's can definitely be passed as normals. Normals vary so much that you can spend a lifetime trying to compare the two. Don't get me wrong though, there's a good chance that whatever normal you come across that looks like a het Russo is probably something similar. But to someone, such as the OP, who doesn't even know what they are, he could have very easily hatched a clutch and thought they were all normals.

It's not like a Spider or Pin that at first glance shows obvious signs of not being a normal.

It's a co dom morph. It's no different than having the "Special", or a phantom, or any other subtle morph. When you start working with them it becomes easy to tell what they are. I answered the question the best I could when it was asked how to tell them apart.

Of course we know with breeding this male in particular there won't ever be any normals since it is the super form. It's good to see comparative photos though. Especially if they ever breed a single gene Russo, or say, a Russo combo that isn't a Leucistic. Then they'd have the chance of getting normals.

My post is not for people who have "dinkers" of unknown origin. It is for someone who is working with the gene and will be seeing these babies a lot now. The colors of a baby Russo look like candy. I don't consider myself an expert at anything but I have never had the slightest problem picking out Russos from my clutches.

Thank you guys so much those pictures are really helpful. I have a picture of my female and the White diamond male locking and i've matched certain patterns she has towards her tail so I'm 100% sure its legit. I've just never seen a russo and dont know much about the gene.. but thanks to you guys now I do! Thanks again for being so helpful I appreciate it

They're going for about the same as Lessers based on gender. It's not so much that they aren't popular, there just aren't as many out there. Their potential hasn't fully been seen I believe. Look up the Opal Diamond. It's gorgeous.

There haven't been too many combos made yet either as far as I know. They are also a lightening gene and brighten anything they are combined with.

I'm surprised the price of a Russo isn't up there with Mystics and Phantoms considering they create similar morphs.

Like I said, to the untrained eye, they may just look like normals. That goes for Mocha's, Special's, Phantom's, even some Mystic's.

You work with Russo's so you know what to look for, the OP hasn't worked with them yet so they don't exactly know what to expect.

Believe me I have seen plenty of "normals" that could pass for some of those subtle morphs (and it may very well had been one of them) but it was being sold as a normal.

I can almost guarantee that if the OP hadn't known what was bred to their female, they would just have assumed that what popped out was normals. And this is only because they don't have prior knowledge on the het. Russo's, where as someone like yourself would instantly see something going on.

Yep, I'm very unfamiliar with Russos, and I had trouble distinguishing the Russo in that third photo, even after knowing what to look for! (The one on the far right also looked pretty light, see..). I'm used to picking out aberrant ball pythons, and Russo is a pretty subtle one!

Subtle morphs make me squint, but I'm learning, lol.
