    Night person
As I wonder through the deep, dark parts of the interwebs, I am curious who else is a night owl all the time, my Summer vacation is usually spent sleeping all day & staying up all night. Is anyone else the same, it doesn't have to be during Summer, it could be a constant thing.

I work nights, so, on the weekends, I just keep the same schedule...

I usually do evening shifts but I also pick up overnights when one of our normal overnights takes a vacation. I'm a night owl by nature, so that suits me just fabulously. Its only a problem when the rest of the internet seems to fall asleep ;P

I just don't have the good sense to go to sleep at a reasonable hour so then I'm tired all day at work until one day I come home and just pass out until work the
next morning. It's also the weekend right now so no work:)

That's HILARIOUS! And very true! I hit the "Refresh" button hoping it's just me or my Internet connection lagging, lol!

I work 40-50 hours a week on top of being a full time college student. I sleep very little and on an irregular schedule. Half of my work hours are done at work, and the other half are completed at home.

So yeah, I'm up all night most nights... Unfortunatly I'm up all day too :(

There is no way I could do that for that extended a period of time! I utterly loathe and despise with all of my being switching from a night to a day schedule when I get called in for trainings or meetings, etc. The world runs on a day shift schedule and people that work nights or keep those hours, well...we get the short end of the stick, lol!

Yeah well it's better than the alternatives, and making $60,000+ annually as a college student is pretty sweet not going to lie lol. Basically I work directly with our products while I'm at work, then at home I update computer models, crunch numbers, and make a plan for what I need to do while at work the next day. So some nights I get off easy... Other nights I don't sleep at all.

And god forbid I have to write a paper or have a upper level math/physics test that I need to study for.

Daaaaaaaaaang! Good for you though, sounds like you certainly work for what you make! I have trouble balancing my check book (negative? Shoot, throw another axanthic pinstripe yellowbelly on the tab, why not!, lol!) so I can't begin to imagine what you deal with as far as math.

DAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNGGGGGG 60,000 DOLLARS AS A COLLEGE STUDENT?! Do you mind me asking what you do?

Well I just finished up Calculus 3 and physics with calc 3 and am now taking differential equations... I enjoy math but not when I am running on 2 hours of sleep.

I actually save most of my pay checks, my girlfriend and I live on $2,000 a month (so 2/5ths of my monthly pay) and put the rest in a high yeild savings account. The plan is to buy our first house in cash in about 3-5 years.

I work for a contractor on a military base, so we don't have any play time, and we are supposed to leave our phones in our lockers, but occasionally I'll find a few minutes to scam out by faking a deuce drop in order post a few replies. Seriously, what is wrong with me?

I know exactly what you are talking about. When in the building at work no cell phones or Internet connections. We only use internal networks that are secure.

Am I the only one who stays up all night but then I wake up at 7, or 8 later in the morning? I usually like to sleep til 5 if I stay up any later than 6AM. Why do I wake up early if I go to bed very, very, late.

Well my sleep pattern is forced lol so it probably shouldn't count but regardless on when I go to bed I get up at 7:00 (so I can either be in class or at work by 8:00 (depends on the day which) but I wake up on my own (most of the time) before my alarm clock goes off.

Considering it's 4:51 A.M. Where I live right now I can already tell that today is going to suck.

I did third shift a little over a year ago for about 9 months 11PM-7:30AM. Now I am on day shift 7:00AM-3:30PM. For the longest time I after divorce :D I considered myself a night person staying up until 2-3AM and sleeping 3-4 hours before waking up for work. Now it's Saturday morning a chance to sleep in and awake at 4:30AM. :( My fiancee is a night person and unemployeed so it makes it difficult on weekends. I am now awake and ready to start the day and she won't be up until 11AM or so.

Let's see... 2:10am and not even beginning to think of sleep... yep, I'm a night owl all right! :D

This has actually been a long-time problem in my life, but not so much a problem for ME - it's a problem for the rest of the world, who can't seem to accommodate my preferences. LOL. Due to my nocturnal tendencies I've adapted to living on little sleep, since I do have to work occasional mornings. Luckily my job has later hours than most, but I really don't need more than 4 hours to function... of course on my days off, I'm thrilled to get 7+. :)

P.S. When left to control my own schedule (when I wasn't working, going to school, etc), my preferred sleeping hours are around 7am-3pm. Some people call themselves a night owl for going to bed after midnight, but it doesn't count unless the sun is FULLY up when you go to sleep!

What is your bedroom like (noise, light, heat, etc), and do you use a sleeping mask? I have no trouble sleeping well into the afternoon, since my room is fairly dark & quiet, and I always wear a mask... sometimes my 4-legged animals will wake me, but for the most part they've learned not to bother mom in her sleep. Funny, I learned the same about MY mother growing up - we called her "the bear" if woken before like 11am! And I wonder where my bad habits come from?

Btw, didn't my first question sound like a snake/husbandry-related question? Haha.

Ah, my room is just a tv on volume around 35 or 40, it's fairly cool but not under the blanket, the only light is my tv. No i don't wear a mask.

I always go to sleep with the TV on (usually playing an old movie), but set the sleep timer so it turns off after 2 hours... maybe try that? I also find the sleep mask helps a lot, even if your room is already pretty dark. They look ridiculous, but hey - whatever works.

I'm a night person as well. I try to go to bed around 3:00-3:30 so that I can still be up at a decent hour. Even during school though, when I have class at 8 am I don't go to bed until sometime between 2-4 depending on whether I have a test the next day or not. I only need 4 hours of sleep to function perfectly for most of the day. Coffee helps though. :P

Working two jobs while being a full-time college student sucks. But having money is nice. More goodies for my snakes that way. :gj:

And Aaron is a genius, in case anybody didn't know that already. I didn't touch 40-50 hours a week at work. Sometimes I wish I did though. Those paychecks sure would be nice.

I can run fine throughout the day on about 5 hours of sleep. I can only do that for like 5days in a row though then i need a day to sleep in. Though i worked 9 days in a row last week(s) so i guess its possible lol. I have to wake up at 5am for work so my rule is in bed by 12am. Earlier than that is preferred for me though. I like sleep and cant sleep when its light out so early like during the summer. Even if i go to bed at 1am on days off, ill be up by 9am at the very latest the next morning.
