What do y'all think?
I am new to the group. I had a BP years ago but gave him up after Hurricane Katrina to a neighbor. My neighbor had always wanted a snake but his wife was against the idea. My boy, Kolbe, was the only snake she'd ever liked. Kolbe was living in too small of a tank since his custom enclosure was destroyed in the flood. I still get to visit him but I have been missing having a BP of my own. I was going to look at the next Repticon, but then this past Sunday this little girl won my heart. She wouldn't come out of her tight ball with anyone and when I walked up and held my hands out she came right to me.
She's lighter than any normal I've ever seen, yellow really. I was wondering if she was anything interesting (I mean she is interesting to me regardless). I'm starting to read more about morphs and trying to learn. She almost looks like a pastel, but her eyes are not really green (they are brown, but with a little bit of that green khaki color to them). If nothing else, she is an interesting normal and I was wondering if it would be worth breeding her down the line and, if so, to what morph?

She has this interesting "spade" on top of her head (and a heart shape elsewhere on her body so if I find a "club" and a "diamond" I'll have a deck of cards).

This picture shows her spade again, and also a bit of her belly. You can also see that the underside of her tail is very yellow.

I can get more pictures of her when she is more settled in. I'm trying hard not to fool with her too much until she is comfortable and eating.

Definitely not a pastel, but a really nice normal none the less.

Hello and http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...elcomeSign.gif to our forum, hope you enjoy your stay!
As for the BP that would be a normal :gj:

I knew she wasn't pastel because of her eye color. I expected her to be normal, but she really is a very light and bright girl with some interesting features and a lot of yellow.
One of the reasons I originally got her was because I wanted a baby from my old snake, but the current keepers said they are unwilling to breed him. So, I started wondering about getting a male morph down the line and was wondering if she was pretty enough to breed and if so, if there was a particular morph that would go well with her.
And I forgot to mention her name, which is Kira Ayn.

I think she would go very well with a Black Pastel or a Cinnamon.

Gahhhhh would you get outta my head? I swear black pastel and cinny was the first thing I thought when she asked what male would be good with her

You have a beautiful Normal!

:welcome: to BP.net ;)
Nice looking normal ya got there...

Welcome to BP!!
She is a really nice, light, high gold normal. And yes I think a cinnamon would be a good match for her.
I also think fire would be a good choice. She's got a few lovely little blush marks on her back, and I bet as she grows they will get bigger and more noticeable, and those combined with her color makes me think fire.

Interesting that you mentioned fire. Although she's a normal, some people have described her as "fire-sque". I wasn't planning on getting another BP right now, but there was something so special about her. And now I'm hooked all over again. LOL She has a little yellow on her belly, particularly near the tail, so I wasn't sure if I shouldn't try her with a yellow belly, but I'm thinking Black Pastel, Fire, or Cinnamon.

Someone else who looked her over really well suggested breeding her with a yellowbelly. He called her a "dinker" and said a YB might bring out interesting babies. The "o's" she has are apparently rare in a normal and might mean something? Anyway, a baby YB male is in my price range so I might go with that, but I'm still deciding.

I only had one male for years and this didn't happen to me. I love him dearly, even though I had to give him up for his own good after we lost our house. Once we got settled, I really wanted him back, but of course, that would hardly have been fair to his new family -- especially their little girl who loves him so much.
Somehow, getting Kira, has made me feel the desire to have more. I think part of it might be menopause. I have this overwhelming desire to breed things and my female cyclura isn't too happy with the male, so things are not looking well on that end. And, while I was lucky enough to get both a male and a female blue phase green iguana, the female had some strange illness and we lost her ($800 in vet bills later). So, perhaps I'll be more successful with BPs. I just need to be patient for them to get big enough!
