When I used a 20g tank I use to put a damp towel over the top of my screen and it would raise the humidity a good bit. Worked for me.

Re: Higher humidity?
Put a digital hygrometer in there, and you'll know almost right away how much it affects humidity. If you aren't measuring it (I don't see one in your pics), then how do you even know a change is needed?

Gotcha. I don't even know if they have Walmart over there, but perhaps you can find an Acurite on Amazon.com or eBay?

Re: Higher humidity?
It doesn't necessary need to be a "reptile" hygro/therm. Do you have any kind of home improvement store that sells indoor/outdoor thermometers? Lowe's over here used to carry them, but I'm not sure that they do any more. Some of those models are digital, with a built-in hygrometer, and a corded probe so you can measure your hot and cool side temps at the same time.

Re: Higher humidity?
The damp towel works for us- over the screen of our tank

There are a few options on what you can do:
1) use a larger damp towel to cover the majority of your lid.
2) use a larger water dish. Larger surface area of the water helps.
3) move your water dish to he hot side.
4) seal 80% of the lid with tin foil or something that covers most of the holes.
You can probably even cover 90-100% of the lid since the tub has a lot of air vents on the side anyway.
