fed my first live.
Fed my snake live for the first time from frozen.. Was getting tired of unthawing them then having to rewarm them as I was feeding so he could smell it I wasnt getting anywere... I had to help assist shed him last night.... Cause he was looking aweful and dry... he hadn't ate in like 3 weeks I was getting worried he was loosing weight... was tired of throwing out the frozen mice that he wouldnt eat after refreezing then a couple times wasteful .... Well he took his red eyed live hopper that I put in his cage... I also bought 2 other mice one other hopper and a big fat mouse that looks pregnant... I hope its pregnant cause that would save me money... Then I had to purposely stick my finger in his mouth when he was about down to the tail of the mouse cause he had a small wood chip that must have been on the mouse stuck to the roof of his mouth... So I had to hold his mouth open with my thumb letting his fangs bite into me while I looked for tweezers... I hope that was the only piece... Im kinda worried...

Next time.... Don't. They can digest bones and fur, they can digest wood chips. Mother Nature has adapted them to do so just fine.

:O
I've seen my snakes swallow wood chips accidentally before. It hasn't been a problem. Next time...let him be! If he's already being picky about eating, you don't need another reason to put him off his food. And stressing him out when eating might do just that.
I wouldn't worry about the wood chips, but definitely don't do that again.

This! Exactly this.
There's no one out in the wild holding their mouth open to pick out the bits and pieces of dirt in their mouth. The few times I notice them with bark in their mouths, they usually find a way to get it out.

Three weeks is not a lot of time to be off feed. Unless there has been serious weight loss, I would just keep feeding on a regular schedule. That being said, you don't mention how big he is. It's possible that he should be on something larger than mouse hoppers in the first place.

Why? A little piece of ingested bedding isn't going to harm it any.

Depends. The person below has the right idea.

Yup, we would need to know the weight of your ball before making any guesses. Hoppers are a very small meal, so unless your ball is a fresh hatchling, chances are you'll need more than a hopper. 3 weeks isn't a long time to go without food, but I often feed a couple smaller meals following a hunger strike to get their stomachs used to having food again.
