As if the early 0.2 spieds weren't enough....
As the title says...I certainly did not expect this! Produced by male paradox lesser pied x albino. 4 eggs...4 crazy looking snakes!

They are sweet but could it be the Pied and Albino gene expressing itself so a visual marker as such ?

Am i reading that pairing right? By that pairing you should only get double het lessers and/or double het normals.

Those DO NOT look like regular lessers. Congrats on those babies and please keep us updated. I got a feeling theres something else definetly going on in there.

Could you post some pics of the parents? How can you tell if a pied has a paradox mark?

Pied gene at work. It has visual markers that many do not believe in. After producing hets, possible hets, and combo hets for several years, I can tell you the Pied gene affects co-dom morphs visually.......LOTS of striping and extreme ringers.

To the original poster, those things look awesome. Congrats and good luck with the project!

Thanks, all! I will be posting pics after they shed. And Brandon, I go through 100s of het pieds a year and I can assure you these are not markers or "ringers". Like I mentioned though I will keep you posted!
    Thanks!

if they're not ringers what would you call them? you have a clutch of double het (albino and pied) paradox lessers, correct?

either way they look great. please keep the thread updated after they shed out

What I'm trying to say is I know the difference between a "hidden gene"(I use that term VERY lightly) and a ringer.

Those are some really cool babies. The one in the third pic seems to have a lot of yolk left. Did you cut early?

They are gorgeous. I think you should take a look at the extreme ringer champagnes tho. Plus Brandon has a line of cinnies/pieds that produce similar results.

I'm not saying you don't have something else going on. I'm not 100% sure my animals don't either, but I'm working on proving them out. I suspect it is just the pied gene. Trust me, I've hatched a few pied, het pied, and het codom and codom pieds over the years. I hope we both have other, hidden, things t work here but I wouldn't count on it. The pied gene does unusual things to codom genes.

Good luck with the project! They look great!

ok now that im done wiping the drool off of my face...... How the heck do you price something like those? I know they are out of my price range so I wont ask for one. but honestly how do you put a price on something that friggin awesome? lesser pied het albino? its just sick. i'm stoked when I produce a bumble bee or a spinner and those are simple. Im hoping to produce my first pieds next season from my hets.
btw thanks for the additional eye candy brandon.

    Hey Brandon,
Beautiful examples! I believe 3 to be pastel lessers, which are of course DH albino pied. The breeders I purchased my paradox lesser pied from said his original import lesser turned out to be pastel as well...so it looks like it was passed along in the white snake also! Does the pastel gene seem to "enhance" het pied ringers in your opinion?
    Thanks!

Aaron, I haven't noticed it affecting pastels much....but I only have a handful to go by. The only one I've hatched with any significant difference was a super pastel that was white where the purple/gray is normally....best looking super I've ever seen by far.

From what I and others have noticed, the codoms that are color based are not affected like the morphs that are pattern based...and this mostly seems to be codom genes. Cinny/BP, mojo, lesser, spider, ect. MA Balls produced a video with Kevin from NERD discussing this very topic of codom pieds and how they are affected.

When I hatched out the first Pewter Pieds I was a bit disappointed with the mostly white coloration....then I found out what Enchi does to Pieds. It is now in the works. My goal is a silver and white Pied. I'm hoping to produce the quad combo next season. We can only dream until it happens!

Good lord what would you price something like that for? imagine a lesser albino pied?.... is there even a lesser albino? Man that is crazy.

I agree with Brandon, I have a Black pastel and a cinny het pied, both striped with ringers, cinny has distorted pattern. I recently picked up a black pewter het albino, pos het pied and it is extremely faded with pattern breaking up which makes me think its going to prove.

Those babies look sweet, like you took an eraser to the pattern, congrats:gj:

Aren't you already trying to sell these as Pastel Lesser DH's?

To me they all look premature, which should typically be the reason for the whacked out patterns and super bright colors. All that yolk still connected them even though they're out the eggs tells me its more than likely premies.

They are some beautiful animals that's for sure!
