Well, it was my intention to take in the Ball Pythons from Danny. But that didn't work out. I was disappointed that we weren't able to help Danny out and give them a home.

So my wife gave me a gift.

    Meet Breeze.

I think male. Decent sized spurs and very calm and gentle demeanor.

Also, I think that the snakes might not have faired well traveling here The morning that I emailed you telling you that I had to bow out, I had 5 tarantulas delivered to me. 4 of them died. It was -17 degrees the night before and about -6 around 9 or 10 am when they arrived.

It would have been far too cold to ship them here. It sounds like things worked out for the best for them with someone closer.

It all worked out in the end.

Looks to be too big to be one of the December hatchlings I just sold to Pet Emporium (I live in the same town as Marcus) and unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of this last clutch (end of season burn out) so couldn't compare either. Just thought I would check in case I could give you some background info on him.

I went in there twice and missed Aaron both times and noticed they already had a bigger one so took mine to Pet Emporium. Tom at Pet Emporium claimed they could still get them from Denver for $29.95 this time of year. I knew some had wised up about keeping the April imports fed until the off season but I thought for sure they would be out of them by now. Used to be I only had to hold my summer captive bred babies until September to be able to sell them to pet stores for a decent price but now it looks like there will be a steady stream all the way through April again. Kind of sucks for me but better for the snakes I suppose.

You don't think they are back to importing wild caught balls in numbers year around? Way, way back they used to import a lot of adults and a few juveniles but eventually got the idea to dig up eggs and gravid females and the captive hatched where so much better than the wild caught I thought they had pretty much stopped bothering with those.

wild caught babies aren't that bad imo, though i'd much rather have a captive hatched.

I'm sure the wild caught babies would be better than the wild caught adults (less set in their ways and less likely to have picked up as many parasites) but still much worse than the "captive hatched" (aka wild bred) babies they bring in the spring which at least haven't been living in the wild. The pet stores still don't seem to want to pay extra for true captive bred though but in theory they should be even better than the captive hatched that have been shipped half way around the world.
