Pastel Het. Gentic Stripes - Need Help Deciding!
So! I'm considering these two girls and I think both are absolutely GORGEOUS! I'm torn between the two of them. So, I was hoping you guys could shoot some thoughts my way to help me decide! Also - I'm trying to be really picky about my pastels, what do you guys foresee in the possible browning out of these girls?

GIRL #1 - She seems brighter.

GIRL #2 - Crazy blushing! Look at her back - that is straight up cool, to me!

So, what do you guys think?

They have nice blushing, but to be honest, I think they've already browned out quite a bit and the lighting in the photos are manipulated to make them seem yellower than what they really are. But, If you like them, get them!

I like the contrast in #1, but the blushing on #2 is pretty sweet.

If I HAD to choose between them, I would go with #1

I like the way #2 looks the best.
I usually say pick the pastel w/ the better color, but I honestly can't tell the difference in the photo. How large are they? Is there any way to get a photo w/ better lighting? It seems like there's a yellow hue to the photos.... (Like an outside shot w/ natural sunlight). Size and actual color will help determine how much they will brown out.

The blushing and flames are pretty intense in #2. She will throw nice super pastels if you ever go that route. However, going for the better color is a smart choice if you plan on breeding Pastel G-stripes...The pastel will only lend color to a g-stripe.

Based solely on those photos, I would choose #1. To me she looks like she'll hold her color better over time.

See - that's what I wasn't sure about. I am very anxious for a pastel right now. I want one to start growing her up but I am so paranoid about the browning out. All the pastels who stay pretty, so far as I've seen, tend to be male. They also tend to be Lemon Pastel's but I can't seem to find any of those without going through NERD - who usually has them mixed with something. I don't mind hets, because I want the pastel and whatever else is there genetically is a bonus - but I don't want to compound already high NERD prices, if you know what I mean.

I'd also go with #1. Based on color and there being somewhat less blushing on the spine. Not that it would mean anything when bred to a G-stripe ( if that's your goal ), but I like the G-stripes to have clean/unbroken stripes.

I don't even know if what I just typed made sense. :rolleye2: Been a rough week.

The only way you can determine the way a pastel will brown out is so how much orange it has. The more orange, the more it will brown out.

You can also try looking for a well started/adult female that way you know the 'end result' colors.

I like the flames best for pic #1 and the blushing best in pic #2. I would also say it seems like both of those photos are very yellowed possibley to hide the brown already. Also I think pic #1 seems like it will have more yellows since the browning doesn't seem to go as far down her body.

You need much more accurate photos. Those photos are very to heavily yellow to get any accurate idea of their colors.

I could make a super cinnamon look like a pastel with that much yellow in the photo.

I recognize the orangish hue as being the result of having a poor camera that doesn't like indoor lighting--I don't think it was deliberate. However, it makes it very difficult to evaluate a pastel, as orange on a pastel will tend to turn brown with age, and you can't see their orange due to the lighting.
