    Am I The Only One?
I was reminded yesterday that I just can't stand the sound of my own voice played back to me. I know everyone around is obviously ok with my voice. But I sound so bad to me.

The most annoying thing is than when I hear myself played back I hear the awful southern accent that I never hear when I am talking.

Anyone else annoyed by the sound of their own voice.

haha i think that is a very common thing!

I hate hearing myself talking in delay on a bad cellphone connection but that's annoying for other reasons lol!

Part of my job requires me to record phone calls and transcribe them back into a database.

At first I was really bothered by it and just felt my self esteem smashed every time I listened. No idea why...

Now I laugh and joke about how stoned I sound all the time. I guess it's just one of those things you have to get used to.

I thought I was the only one!

I've had a very deep voice since 7th grade, deeper than most men. (I don't see [in this case hear :P] it though, because it's my own voice) And just having it played back to me emphasizes the point even more, which quite often annoys me. Has to be one of my top flaws and dislikes.

Yes! I agree, when I used to travel for training presentations I had a pre-recorded audio session that I played to my classes, ugh.... I HATED EVERY SECOND OF IT! lol

I also hate hearing my voice, especially when it's a candid video or something and I'm totally unaware of how I sound... it's awful. I don't know how anyone stands to be around me.

I absolutely hate the way my voice sounds when I am watching a video of myself or listening to my voice when it has been recorded. It doesn't even sound like me!

Me too! But I believe that it happens to most of people. It's even somehow explained by medical people n stuff...We hear ourselves in a different way, so it's OK to be slightly irritated by your own voice!

When I see video of myself, I always wonder why Robin William's voice is coming out of my mouth...

I literally watched Aladdin last night and continuously commented at the awesomeness of Robin Williams voice. Think about what he must have looked like in the studio while singing 'Friend Like Me'

Guhhhhh I LOVEEEEE American accents. ALL American accents.

Got a voice message from ReptileExperts on Xbl and I was like "Teehee! PLAY AGAIN."

My own voice however? I think I sound like a 14 year old boy...And have in fact been told this before xD
But my Mum and I have identical voices, and people can't tell us apart with their eyes closed and us speaking...yet she doesn't (to me) sound like a 14 year old boy.

    *sigh* so weird.

I love the sound of my voice. The problem is every time it gets recorded the recorder malfunctions because there is now way in hell that I sound like that maybe someday I'll find one that's not broken.lol.....hey do you think someone like james earl Jones thinks his recorded voice sounds funny?:D

I dont really mind my voice lol. I do notice whenever its recorded and played back its a bit more high pitched, but thats normal for anyone. No one has ever came up to me and said, "Hey bud, i dont really like your voice". So ive never thought otherwised lol.

Ive been told though, that i have a really funny laugh. like the kind that when i start laughing people just start laughing too even though they dont even know what theyre laughing at. It works out for me though bc when i laugh at my own corny jokes everyone starts laughing. I like to think its bc my jokes are actually funny, but thats probably not the case.

Cherry- chicks with British accents are hot. Like Ashton Kutcher's girlfriend in Two and a Half Men. (thats an american tv show so you prolly have no idea what im talking about lol). But who knows the chick im talking about, anyone haha?

Yes, Sir. I am familiar with the young lady in question, and yes, she is Redonkullously Hot!

I second you opinion on women with British accents.
