    Evolution of a new logo
I am working on drawing up ideas for the logo for Royal Hijinx, and thought I would show the progression.

Here is the initial layout sketch:

    Inked:

    Color blocked in on computer:

I will update as I do some rendering. I have to keep in mind what would look good on a small and large scale, so simplicity rules.

Jinx, when you DO get that on the back of a T-shirt, send me a PM with the details on how I can get one ;)

I like the concept, I like the logo, and think it's very distinctive :gj:

The black and white sketches were confusing for me to look at but the colored pic of it is very good. I'll be expecting a PM too for a black t-shirt when you get everything in order. Are you gunna work "Royal Hijinx" somewhere onto the logo or put it like underneath?

I lied, here is another step:

I usually use Photoshop, but I am using Pixelmator for this. As far as lettering, I am not sure yet.

Oh, and I am not a fan of black T-shirts.... maybe dark grey.

Can you explain why you chose the Jester hat? Just curious, cool idea.

The company name will be Royal Hijinx Pythons, so the jester hat kinda goes with that. Someone else on here recommended it a while back, and I went with it.

Meh on white as well. I will have to find a color that works well that is not black or white. Dark heather grey is my first choice..... but I will have to look and see what works.

For Ts I am thinking of doing a vintage version. The T shirt color would come through on the scratched out areas as if it were old and worn in.

Looks like your logo is covered in spider webs! Idk you were getting into Ts now too lol!

I like it but the color of the t-shirt couldnt be white, bc like i said it looks like spider webs. Just my opinion. I prefer the no vintage look personally, i think its just cleaner looking, but once again just my .02. :gj:

Yeah the white background does not work as well for vintage. I will do a mockup on another color.

Looks much better for a vintage look rather than white :gj:

How about a purple shirt a few shades lighter than the purple in the hat? For a non-vintage t-shirt

I did do a mock up in a lighter purple heather and it looked pretty sweet.

I love that, looks really awesome. The "Hijinx" is a bit hard to read though. I like the medieval font look though and would definetly stick with that. Just maybe a milder one.

Maybe its not hard to read for other people? Im trying to think about it from a business standpoint. You definetly want people to be able to read/recognize your logo.

EDIT: actually i guess its not really that hard to read after looking at it again, its really only the "h" that looks kinda funky to me.

I see what you are saying with that font. It was just the first one I grabbed to test color. I do like every letter EXCEPT the H, so I will have to look at other fonts of that type.

I really like the heather purple, but it is expensive with a 48 shirt minimum. There is another American Apparel solid purple that does not have a minimum.

Well from this one thread you already have 6% of the 48 sold. Between me, slim and retired jedi. I would also assume you would keep 1 or 2 for yourself lol. So thats 10% and you havent even had them made yet...

Yea the H is the only letter that bothers me lol, but i really like how Royal and Pythons looks in that font!:gj:

Open a cafepress online shirt shop. Only thing being they don't have purple that I know of, which makes the shirt that much better...so nevermind.

The logo looks awesome! With the vibrant colors on it, I think you should check to see how graffiti letters would look with it.
