    Thoughts on my spider?
Ok. So I picked up this male last night, as of now he is my pet, no real plans to breed. Anyways, he was labeled "high white spider". I'm very new to ball pythons, I'm very familiar with leopard geckos but the ball bug has bitten me and I fell in love with them.

Anyways, I have a few questions about him. First off, I don't see what would make him high white compared to other spiders I've seen online? Second, his belly isn't even white, it's almost yellow? Finally, most spiders I've seen online are much darker and have different shades or browning and almost to black, he is solid medium light brown pattern all over, very rarely does the brown color hue change. Is this just a typical spider or something else? I know the spider gene is 100% there that's to the wobbles and obvious visual appearance of him. Help is appreciated.

I really like him! Some spiders have almost no white showing so thats why they where probably calling him a high white. I would say he is just a good looking spider!!

id say high white due to its white sides most spiders dont have white sides. my spider also has yellow on his belly. as for his color id like to heve a bright spider like him mine is dark colored..

other than that id say you have a very nice looking spider :gj:

Thanks for the input! I really do appreciate it! I got a killer deal on him that I couldn't pass up. His wobbles seem minimal while he is in his tank but as soon as I take him out it's game over, his head goes into a spiral. He ate fine for me, and has bred earlier in the season so if I decide to breed down the road I don't see any issues using him. I definitely like him over the spiders I see elsewhere just because he is so light colored.

Never on this site. 99% of the people here are very nice and very knowledgeable as long as youre willing to listen and learn. Its only when "noobs" come here and get a bad attitude going that we can be slighlty unfriendly lol. :)

    Wow!

I don't normally care much for spider's, not really my thing, but DANG I'd snag him in a heartbeat if I had the chance.

I love his coloring, so very unusual in a spider.

    Congratulations on a lovely animal.

I'd say it's pretty normal for a spider, not super high white but not low white either.
    Good looking spider :gj:

Thanks again everyone! I really appreciate all of the comments! I got him for a hell of a deal, so I didn't expect him to be anything other than an average run of the mill spider.

I'll get weights and measurements on him soon, have to borrow a scale.

Most of the Spider's I've seen have had at least some white on the sides. The OP's has a pretty good amount...I don't know about "high white" but that's subjective...He's a great looking Spider...looks like he may be a little older as the dark parts tend to fade a bit with age...Nice pickup! :gj:

So out of curiosity, I want to know if the deal I got on him was as good as I thought it was, what would a snake like this typically sell for?

Well, is it for sure a male ? How old/big is he ? That has a lot to do with price.

I too am curious of what kind of deal you got for your little hisser there. Though it is a pretty good looking snake.

I'll have to get weights soon, I need to borrow a friends scale. He's a pretty good size IMO, I'd guess 3-3.5' area. About the width of a paper towel roll.
100% male, he was paired and produced last season, I was shown pics of this. I traded an old laptop valued at about $50, a baby normal BP, and a 10 gallon tank with lid.

    Nice looking Spider!

Personally I prefer the lighter/golden ones.

This is my Leon when I first got him.

    http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...piderball3.jpg

Since then, with every shed he gets more golden, his back is more pale gold/iridescent almost as though he has Fire in him and his belly/sides are egg-yolk yellow and peach.

I have no idea if that "means" anything at all but I do love looking at him.

He's also a fun little snake.

Money is getting tight this week with some things coming up. What would be a fair price to list him for on Craigslist?

Ok, I send you a PM. I would say being that he is a good quality spider with high white sides and he has some size to him I would put him in the $250 range, off hand.
