    My first clutch ever!!!
So exactly 27 days after her ovy shed I have my first ever clutch of bp eggs!
Pretty great clutch, 10 good eggs and 2 slugs.
The pairing was a normal x lesser. So hopefully I'll get some good healthy little babies out of this one!
I washed out the females enclosure but holy crap she has been moving around non stop since I took her eggs, its been like 12 hours and she hasnt stopped...any suggestions for me on this?

The other female I bred with the lesser is taking her sweet time, she hasnt even had her ovy shed yet...but shes HUGE so im hopeful.

I also had a question, my incubator seems to fluctuate more than I like. Anywhere between 85 to 89 degrees. I'm assuming in nature temps fluctuate more than that even so I'm thinking its probably ok? But any input would be helpful. The humidty is at 95%.

Try feeding your girl. That might help settle her down.
And Congrats on the nice sized clutch!!

I've had girls eat within hours of laying, and I've had girls wait a couple days. It wouldn't hurt to try :)

    Wow, nice big clutch! :gj:

Feeding will definitely settle her down, and a little fluctuation isn't bad. My first clutch was incubated in a poorly-made mini fridge deal, and fluctuated by 3-5 degrees throughout... babies all hatched just fine, so I guess that didn't matter! What are you using for an incubator, and does it have a fan?

    Awesome first clutch! Congrats!

I'm not sure how big your incubator is, but a lot of people add water bottles/jugs to their incubators to help stabilize temps.

I'm thawing the rat right now, shes always been great on f/t so hopefully I wont have to feed her live, its worth a try.
I'm using my homemade stand up display fridge I put together the other day. Yes I have a fan, its the black thing on the top shelf on the left. (I didnt have the tools to mount it on the ceiling of the fridge right away.)

I'm not sure if its the thermostat that is doing it, or if my thermometers are dumb or what...
But my probe is in the egg box, and I had it set to 88 but it wouldnt get warm enough in the box.
So I turned it up to 91 and according to my probe thats what it is, but according to my thermometers its 88 in the box...it has been holding pretty steady for now from what I can tell.
Humidity is at 97%, thats not too high is it?

Bleh, yeah it still fluctuates...everytime I go check it its anwhere from 87-89. That means its changing in temps multiple times in an hour...I dont really like that. does anyone have any input on the matter? Im using a johnson controls thermostat which I hate but its all the had available. I could switch it with my VE-300 today though, which im very tempted to do.
Ahhh im one stressed snake keeper!:rage:

maybe put some loose water bottles beside the shoe box. help stabilize more. lots of people use that press and seal to keep all heat from escaping. not sure if you've tried that yet.

I'm going to switch out my thermostats and see what comes of that.
It just should'nt change THAT much that often...maybe I'll try different thermometers too.

Yeah I switched thermostats and there is no fluctuation in temps. Gotta love a good VE thermostat. :)

Thanks! it was so awesome when I saw her coiled around those eggs and it'll be even cooler once I get to cut them and see the little guys. And to know what odds I got. I'm so excited, all my work paying off. Its been a looong year :) Wish I could fast forward
